2nd Time Visit, Has Seen Better Days
Opinión escrita el 15 de marzo de 2019
My first time at Eastpoint was 7 years ago. We ended up at Eastpoint since we had our Chihuahua with us and they were the only Hotel that i called which accepted Pets, 2nd time we had a Poodle this time and since Eastpoint accepted pets before decided to stay with them again. When we arrived at Eastpoint the Staff did not know about our reservation. So i showed them the deposit slip for my reservation. They said that Dra Rivas (the Owner) forgot to mention the Reservation. Since there were still a lot of Rooms available this was not a problem but this will be a BIG BIG Problem during peak season, especially during Moriones. So make sure to speak with the staff and not with Dra Rivas when making a Reservation. When we stayed before, it was in the New Building. We stayed this time at their Unit near the beach but we transferred to the unit near the Gate. The First Unit we got was the Angelique (Nearer the Beach and Good for 5). It had an LCD TV (With Very Poor Reception), A Ref, 2 Queen Sized Beds and a Single One, Bathroom was Cramped but it had Hot Shower and a BIDET! Overall look was dated and Room needs renovating. Before the day was over we transferred to the Room near the Gate since it had its own enclosed area where we can let our Poodle roam around. Room was Good for 5 too but bit Larger than the first and Bathroom too was bigger. This room had the same dated look, its TV was still the picture tube type and it had a bit better reception but still lousy and it was broken too so it had only 1 Channel. Aircon was good enough to cool the room. Bathroom was bigger and had hot shower plus BIDET again (Their Bidet was not hand held so it was better!) Shower door was broken too. Problem with this room though that there were Mosquitoes in the Bathroom. Rooms at the New Building looked much newer but still a dated feel. 7 years did not change the look of the hotel, it is still the same. The Beach Is much cleaner though. No more trash like before. Their staff is new too. Located 6kms from Downtown Boac. This hotel is not that far from Downtown but better if you have your own Car as Tricycles are not always available 24/7. You will have a problem getting one if you did not arrange beforehand. No food served here (but someone mentioned thay have breakfast) so confused if they do serve breakfast or if this is an on and off thing. Just ask again. There is a New Hotel nearby though which you can go to BALAR which serves breakfast starting at 730am. There is also Good Chow and Cafe Ma Mita in Downtown Boac. Eastpoint has seen better days. Rooms need a good repaint job and updating of Furniture, otherwise the Hotel is a good place to stay. The Hotel has so much potential for improvement. Staff here are very friendly and that is one of the reasons why i gave them 4 stars. BTW during our last day. There was a brownout which started around 5am. And there was no water too so this maybe another problem.

The hotel has seen better days. Staff are accommodating and always ready to help. Parking is good and free carwash. Expensive during Moriones Festival. Over all its a good stay. Offer only breakfast. All silog. But staff can cook if needed....

As always, the staff made the stay very enjoyable. Jeffrey and Jerry were really a big help and always assisted us with checking in, food and any event planned during our stay. Even when I needed to load my cell phone, Jerry walked with me across the street and helped me get it loaded with a new sim chip to boot. They go the extra distance along with Anthony and the rest of the staff. Dr. Rivas, the owner, should be very proud of her team. The hotel's location is close enough to the main city of Boac but enough away for some privacy. Friends can visit anytime and you can have some relaxing time also, if you wish. The room had two queen beds, with built in a/c unit and a bathroom. We spent most of our time outside and close to the beach. We usually stay at the Eastpoint Hotel so I would highly recommend to all this hotel.
All by myself

When I checked in at this resort sometime August 2015, I have the resort all to myself. I arrived in the wee hours and it was nice of them to anticipate me. the beach is not top class and is further damaged by the amount of garbage washed ashore. The food they served is decent despite the reviews of bad food here. If you are looking for some place to just sit, reflect and relax- this is a good place to stay.
EAST POINT HOTEL

This Hotel by the Sea is located approximately 7 kms from the town center of Boac, Marinduque which is about 15 minutes by Tricycle. The cottage rooms are very basic with a not so clear Cable reception and personal refrigerator. They provide only smallish soap so be sure to bring your own shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste. Towels are provided. In the 3 nights we stayed in this resort, not once was the room refreshed or cleaned. I guess we should have requested for this service. Room rates do not come with breakfast which cost P120 for a traditional Filipino breakfast fare. The beach area is not suitable for swimming as we found plenty of sea urchins. There is a great view of the Sunset though. Inspite of its drawbacks, I would still recommend this hotel to my friends.
