Quality Inn

In town for a single evening, I booked a room using a third-party hotel app. Seeking savings over comfort, I was assigned the Quality Inn Boca Raton University Area. Check in was quick and easy – clerk was polite and assigned a first-floor room upon request. Lobby area had several safety precautions in place and a shield between guest and clerk. An inquiry of breakfast - I was quickly advised that the restaurant hadn’t reopened yet. In mentioning that both the website and third-party hotel app advised that breakfast was currently available, the clerk mentioned that he brought that matter to the attention of management. Close to Mizner Park and the Atlantic Ocean, it was an average room with the standard amenities. Refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker, room safe, etc. Bed was comfortable – shower water was lukewarm. In town for a mere evening, I didn’t use the pool or other offered amenities. In seeking savings over comfort, my only issue was the lack of “free breakfast” or even a grab bag. When booking, all indications led to the current availability of breakfast. This wasn’t the case. Reasonably clean, fair breakfast, good management excellent location but cheap, superficial renovation for a very old construction that feels and looks more like a homeless shelter. Ripped linen & shower curtain, broken drawers, half sized pillows and peeled off bath door.Some of the other rooms seemed to be in a better conduction but can not be sure. Conclusion: greatly overpriced. Must charge half the price. Better choice across the street with Best Western 30% less or the Marriot at Boca Center $2 less!

It's hard to find what we would consider an affordable but good hotel in Boca, so we were braced for this to be marginal. This was not the case: This Quality Inn really surprised us with its up-to-date furnishings and amenities. The beds were very comfortable, everything worked including the TV and refrigerator, and the bathroom was quite nice. Because we were in Boca Raton, we paid more for this Quality Inn than we would just about anywhere else, and the amenities for the price paid ($170/night) didn't feel adequate, but that's a factor of the location and season more than the hotel itself.

The room was clean enough, and there were no roaches in the room as reported by another reviewer, but it did have the faint smell of cigarette smoke. Also, this motel allows pets. If you insist on traveling with your pet that might be a plus to you, but if you don't, it's a definite negative to those of us who don't since extra cleaning is required and even then the smell of your pet may remain. That goes for cigarette smokers as well. People were smoking just outside the non-smoking rooms and in the lobby. The major complaint we had was the incessant talking by several people that began about 9:00 pm and went on until we complained at 11:00 pm. We had to complain to the management four of the six nights we spent here and to their credit they dealt with the situation expeditiously. Also, there is considerably road noise on Federal Highway that can clearly heard in the rooms. The free breakfast was average for this kind of motel, and comprised of sweet yogurts, pastries and waffles and stale breads. There were also scrambled eggs and sausages, perhaps the healthiest items within the offerings. The coffee was good enough. We skipped the breakfasts and went elsewhere for something more healthy. All in all, adequate, but I wouldn't recommend to a friend.

When we first checked out the room everything seemed fine, and when I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom there were baby cockroaches all over the floor, dresser, and in my back pack where all my personal belongings were. Instead of refunding almost 100$ they put us in another room. It was very disgusting and a refund should of been given.
