Great central location, colonial building, spacious rooms

Reviewed 1 july, 2015

This is really a gem of a hotel. If you need to be in central Bogota, it's better to stay in this region so you don't have to commute back and forth from the North, where the majority of the hotels are. This hotel offers a great price, location, and beautiful colonial buildings which have been entirely remodeled. The rooms are very spacious with comfortable beds and they offer a free delicious breakfast. Staff is hit or miss, some people there are very friendly and others not so much, but overall does not affect the stay. There is a sweet older man who often serves breakfast and makes up for others. I often travel to Bogota and always stay here!

Excellent

We stayed there three nights and we enjoyed this hotel very much. It is located in a beatiful residential area, very quiet and peaceful. We felt there vey safe even walking in late evening. It is far away from noises and hustles of city center. But the localization of this hotel is still very comfortable. We used to go to the La Candelaria by foot and it took us about 30 minutes to get there. By the way it was the great way to known some others parts of Bogota not only La Candelaria. For those who don't like walking to much the public transport, with Transmilenio, is very close to, too. We had the double room upstairs - it was spacious enough, full of light, nice decorated, warm, very clean, bed was very comfotable. We liked the bathroom very much as well, especially the shower (and water pressure) was great. Breakfasts were very tasty and consists of fruit salad, eggs prepared in diffrent ways, jam, butter, bread, fresh juice, tea and coffee. Breakfasts are made by order but they were prepared rather fast and we didn't have to wait long. There is small nice garden inside hotel when you can just sit and relax. And all people we met there were really very kind, nice and helpfull. We had great time there and I highly recommend this hotel. I particularly recommend this area to stay in Bogota.

Clean Hotel but no isolation

Reviewed 4 september, 2014

The hotel is nice the rooms are clean and have everything what you need. The only problem is there is no heating and no isolation. Meaning in the night it becomes 8C or less and you have the same temperature in your room. This is not very pleasant. Also the windows are very thin so you can hear every noise from the street. The location is very nice its not far to the center or zona t (by Taxi 10 min around 5$). Break first was good and staff is very friendly.

Peaceful, beautiful and familial

Reviewed 26 july, 2014

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, beautiful property, well-cared for outside and inside. Rooms are beautiful. Ours had a balcony with great views to the east - mountains and the morning sun. Comfortable beds and attention to detail. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Neighborhood quiet with a nice park for kids nearby, a great cafe and nice vegetarian restaurant just down the street.

GOOD LOCATION, STAFF AND BREAKFAST

Reviewed 1 june, 2014

I stayed in this hotel 2 nights. it has a great location. great staff. And I enjoyed the breakfast in the morning, and egg made-to-order with cheese, croissants roles, orange juice and coffee. the only thing that was somewhat disappointing is that my room (number 306) was quite small. It had a sloping ceiling which made it comfortable to stand up. Also the Internet connection in this room was very slow. I could not make attachments to my emails.it could be that I just got a bad room. I would say that if you get to this hotel and you need good Internet access, you should ask of them before they assign you a room. Otherwise this is a good hotel.
