Founded in 1962 in Santa Barbara, California, the hotel chain is synonymous with a great travel value. The first hotel in Santa Barbara still leaves the light on today, but a lot has changed for the motel chain that pioneered the first real economy motel designed for the no-frills traveller. My husband and I stayed here for a bit of shut eye before our early morning flight. This hotel is only a few minute walk from the airport which saved us an extra day payment in the renal car. The room smelled odd when we first walked in. They only had two flat pillows available for my husband and I. The shower is small and the shower head is meant for someone shorter. I'm around average height and I bumped my head on it a few times. The pool water looked dirty. The TV guide did not match the channels on the TV. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They have a Denny's available within a few minute walk - they do close very early, so be aware!
Night Clerk (Braden) saved my day and I got to sleep quickly.

I stay in Motel 6 often. Last night I arrived exhausted after driving about 11 hours. The room was wonderfully cool (which I usually enjoy) but I was stressed by the long drive and just needed a warm bed to get to sleep quickly. I phoned the front desk about getting the room warmed up quickly and the guy at the front desk (Braden) offered to bring me an extra blanket. He was at the door quickly. I didn't even know that they had extra blankets to offer guests. It is people like Braden who make Motel 6 my favorite motel as I travel.

Awesome and helpful front desk employees, housekeeping does a great job considering rooms are very fresh and clean! Recommend staying here when traveling. Pet friendly, pets stay for free. Outside area for pets is also clean and seems to have great upkeep!

My daughter was staying at this place, when I had to get help from her. I needed a place to stay for the night. On the upside - the allow dogs. Downside - they can kick you out at a moment's notice. The Manager was rude, nasty, and threatening. I'm terminally ill, and handicap. She gave us 15 minutes to leave, saying we had too much traffic??! Not sure what she was talking about. This is Not the standard of Boise. They need an overhaul. Bad!
Motel 6 is exactly what you expect

This hotel is exactly what we expect from a Motel 6. Decent. Nothing super fabulous about it at all. Pet friendly which is a HUGE plus when traveling. Extremely close to airport, Dennys and only about 2 miles from a shopping center if you need more things.
