Hotel Refugio

After a travel snafu, I was able to call the hotel to discuss a late arrival so that they would not cancel my reservation, which had to be entirely prepaid. The gentleman at the desk was very polite and accommodating. Upon arrival, however, the room was uninhabitable due to an extremely strong smell of mildew that was too strong to deal with, and no sheets or bedding in the room. With no other rooms available to solve the issue, there was no choice but to move to a different property. The staff was unwilling to assist in discounting or refunding the unused nights, which was very disappointing. While it may have many charming features, I implore anyone considering to look beyond the $20/night savings versus some of the other options and look at other locations. Ended up at Surucua, and could not be happier with the property. This location could be fine with some simple adjustments to policies and a better focus on ensuring a clean, comfortable stay. When it's such a limited market, it's just my opinion, but the hotel might not feel the pressure to bring its standards up. I know the owner reads and responds to the reviews, so hopefully she can train her team better to anticipate the potential issues and prevent them, so that there is not a disappointment to begin, and then a further disappointment when the problem cannot be solved due to tight space or policy. I would gladly pay $10 more per night if that is the cost of hiring better housekeeping staff, or re-investing in upgrades to the property.

If you want a a place to relax and enjoy its not your place. i stayed there for a few days but from the beggining i noticied that i would have trouble they charged me one more night even after i showed an email changing the date of arrival, the reason it wasnt very clear a real RIP OFF, the price is skyhigh for the place.

Hotel fraco, fornece apenas um sabonete líquido muito ruim, o mesmo para banho e lavar as mãos, a limpeza dos quartos não é feita diariamente. Péssimo atendimento de recepção, nenhuma ajuda foi oferecida para levar as malas até o quarto que ficava no segundo andar subindo escada. Mas o episódio principal para a maior decepção foi no check-out quando perdemos a chave do carro e ficamos mais de uma hora procurando por todo o hotel sem que ninguém levantasse um dedo para ajudar. No final a chave havia caído ao lado da cadeira da recepcionista que não se deu ao trabalho de olhar em volta, mesmo quando nós questionamos se não havia caído ali. O único atendimento que foi bom foi o da equipe do café da manhã, sempre muito prestativos. De bom tinha a localização que fica bem próximo ao centro. Não voltaria nem recomendaria o hotel.

Hotel horrível limpeza do quarto horrível, lençol sujo e as toalhas também, pedimos para trocar e só foram trocar quando pedirmos pela segunda vez, cobertas horríveis para se cobrir, não tinha shampoo no banheiro, a limpeza só era feita as pedisse pra ser feita e deixasse a chave na recepção até as 10, um absurdo ! Não recomendo a ninguém !!!!

Uma das piores experiências que tive com com hotel, desde check-in até check out.atendentes não só 1 sem preparo, nao ajuda e ainda alguns mal educados. Quarto sem toalha tendo que pedir. Não tenho vontade de voltar, mega chateado com a hospedagem.
