Slept great. Comfortable beds, dark rooms. No breakfast included.

The bed was very comfortable and the room is completely black at night after unplugging the alarm clock. I slept great and it was good to recover after a day of hiking. My room was quiet, although it also was not facing the busy road. The wifi is very fast at 94 Mbps down / 94 Mbps up. Unless you are going to the college campus, the location is bad because it is right off of a very busy road and it is hard to get into the parking lot. The hotel does not include breakfast or coffee in the lobby, so you have to pay for that separately. The "Starbucks" in the lobby is not a real Starbucks.
Comfortable bed terrible room if you like to look out your window

Room was not real big but adequate. Bed was comfortable. Do not let them put you in Room 211 unless you don't mind your window view being the a wall 20' away. If you stood just right you can see out a crack to see the parking lot. With Marriott you are now responsible for some of the housekeeping duties with no discount.

i checked in greeted by Jillian, a very warm, friendly and professional guest service agent. she did ask me if i wanted a specific location (room location) and typically i am not so particular, but i decided to ask for a room on the outer end of the floor. she accomodated me with this request. we had some interactions with the hotel engineer, didn't get his name, but he was very helpful and very personable. we were a little disappointed that the hotel didn't provide coffee in the lobby or provide breakfast food. not a big deal. i decided to brew some coffee in room, but they did not have any coffee cups present. apparently they had none in inventory, so they had to get some from the starbucks in the lobby. just a little inconvenient. i like to run when i visit new towns, and this is a good city to run in, no trail convenient to the hotel, but the Appalachian State University was only about a half a mile from the hotel. i loved the location of this hotel, and Boone is a great little city. will definitely come back to this city and will stay at this hotel.
Great Stay. Kudos to the staff.

We stayed the night while in town for an event at App State. The front desk was polite and welcoming. We forgot our key in our room and she was understanding and helpful. We had drinks and a Starbucks drink for our daughter in the evening at the Bistro. The young woman behind the bar was working alone but she did a fantastic job. She was friendly and kept all the patrons happy and never stopped working. We would stay again .. the “no free breakfast” is not a deal breaker there are tons of places near by that do great breakfast.
Pricy with NO breakfast

Checked in with Jillian who said no upgrades available and our room was ready (it was 4:30 pm) I said as long as it’s not next to the elevator and she replied it was but kindly found us another room on 3rd floor! There was a king bed, desk (no pen or paper) small mini fridge and a decent sized bathroom with a walk in double shower! The lobby is fresh and clean and inviting with lots of seating; there is also outside seating with fire pits, a small indoor pool and small fitness center! There is a bistro to order drinks or breakfast or dinner but costs are steep! On site parking is free! What was most disappointing was that there was no breakfast included! Many nights were spent at Marriott through the years to obtain our Titanium status, and Even in Europe where breakfast is not included, they value our titatium status and give us a free breakfast in their onsite restaurant! For $200 a night for a standard room, breakfast should be included especially for titanium members! This was first time, we did not get breakfast included at a Marriott brand hotel! To add insult to injury, the HBO did not work and it kept saying to try again later! We booked directly through Marriott and our room was non refundable and no changes were allowed!, but had we checked booking.com or TripAdvisor first, prices were cheaper and all the other hotels offered FREE breakfast! So do your homework and check other sites-and don’t rely on Marriott to be the cheapest! Feel we should be compensated for no HBO and no breakfast!
