Staff needs to be trained better
Opinión escrita el 26 de Agosto de 2021
The room was clean and well maintained. It was the staff that I had some problems with. A sign is taped on the window as you walk in stating that masks are required in all public space, but most of the staff were not wearing masks. They also gave you the "don't bother me attitude" when we asked for help. Since housekeeping is only done after you check out, understandable with staffing problems, we asked for extra towels. We were given 2 towels and told "that is all we have." No asking if that was sufficient or offering to get more. I don't know if it is a NJ thing but the breakfast was very very basic. This seemed strange because we stayed at HI expresses in Ohio and PA, and they both had the normal breakfast. We would give the place another try, but only when we are out of this pandemic.
No hand soap in the bathroom, and none in the hotel!
Opinión escrita el 26 de Julio de 2021
When I checked in to my room, I discovered there was no hand soap in the bathroom l. I went to the front desk to ask for some, only to be told the hotel was entirely out. What kind of hotel doesn’t have hand soap in a guest bathroom? The hotel clerk just responded with a shrug…
No way to Treat IHG members
Opinión escrita el 7 de Junio de 2021
Arrived at the Hotel to be told the pre paid room we reserved was given away and they had no room for us. Had to argue for some time before we were given a room. It was not the type we requested but after arguing with the rude desk staff we took what was available.
GOT MILK? This is the worst Holiday Inn Express that we have experienced
Opinión escrita el 20 de Mayo de 2021
We stayed here two different nights in one week. The property is overgrown with weeds. Gabriel and Anthony at the front desk were attentive and helpful. However, the breakfast selection is very limited and almost non-existent. There was only 4 oranges, about a dozen old bananas, 6 cartons of chocolate milk, and a few boxes of cereal. And, this was for a breakfast morning where the hotel was FULL! There was NO milk. Yes, NO milk. When we complained to the front desk, Operations Manager Mercedes Ross said she couldn't understand our complaint. My husband said "why is there no milk when you have cereal?" She said, "I don't control the ordering or the breakfast. I don't get your point." She kept saying, "I don't get your point." When my husband said, "if you invited people to your home for breakfast and served cereal, don't you think you'd have milk?" She then said "yes." We are Platinum Elite members and stay at many IHG properties including Holiday Inn Express. This is the worst Holiday Inn Express experience that we have had. No employee should argue with the guests. It is so obvious that the owner is trying to "cheap it out" and save a few bucks by not living up to the Holiday Inn Express standards. We will file a complaint with IHG Corporate. We will NEVER stay at this hotel again, and we urge others to AVOID this property if you want a hotel that cares for its customers, maintains it property, and provides the amenities that it advertises. Stayed here May 16th and May 19th
Fairly uneventful stay
Opinión escrita el 7 de Septiembre de 2020
Wife and I stayed here for a night over Labor Day weekend. Pretty typical suburban HIE. Hotel had the lobby shut down for congregating and plastic shields up at reception for COVID mitigation. Check-in was a breeze, and there were hand sanitizing stations available as we left the front desk as well as in the elevator lobbies. Room was very clean and neat upon arrival, although quite hot at nearly 80 degrees. I assume this is due to the fact that they're attempting to limit/eliminate unnecessary access to the guest rooms after cleaning, so they shut the HVAC unit off after the last guests departed. Fair enough. AC had the temperature back to a comfortable 73 degrees within the hour. As previously mentioned, the room was exceedingly clean and comfortable, both in the bedroom and bathroom. The shower had a slow drip the entire stay, but nothing major; we didn't even mention it until we checked out. The only minor complaint we would have is that the soundproofing left something to be desired, as we could clearly hear the conversations occurring in the room next to our well into the night. There was an outdoor pool and exercise room available, but we didn't utilize either. We also didn't see any of the grab-and-go breakfast options on the way out the door, but we departed after 10, so they may have already put them away. We didn't go looking. All in all, a pleasant enough stay. Based on the extremely high percentage of Government license plates in the parking lot, I assume that this location generates much/most of its business through contracts with nearby Fort Dix/McGuire AFB, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if I was looking for somewhere to stay in the area.
