We had a good stay at the hotel. In short, we got what we paid for, nothing more, nothing less. This is the typical “lagom” or good enough experience you would get at a typical Swedish hotel. The room is nice, clean, with updated Scandinavian design interior. We got a suite with sea view which came with an almost full kitchen with fridge and freezer, stove, and dishwasher. The beds were ok (again, nice enough). The TV was a little small for the room but it worked. Breakfast was quite decent, so as food at the restaurant for dinner. Staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. The pool was quite nice and long enough for lap swim. The sauna room was decent and got hot. The location was quite good. The hotel was within 30 mins walking distances of all the attractions in Borgholm. Also the sunset view was memorable and amazing. There is a really nice bike rental shop on the hotel premise that we highly recommend.

Had a wonderful stay in the end of July at Strand Hotell in Borgholm. The service was sharp and attentive. The room was facing the sea and consisted of a bedroom, living room, hallway, bathroom and pentry. We order breakfast in the room and it was plentiful. The location in the center on the picturesque town and with walking distance to the most impressive ruin was perfect. Everything was top notch, and well worth the somewhat higher cost.

Moldy toilet, dirt everywhere. Really bad isolation in the room and horrible experience overall. We were kind of hopeful when me and my wife got here but soon after we arrived we realised we'd rather sleep in the car... Oh and also! No lights in the room, almost no curtains and the tv is locked in hotel mode which I've never experienced before. Stay away!

The Strand Hotell Borgholm is situated just by the sea and next to the guest harbor, meaning that the location is perfect to visit Borgholm and the island of Öland. Other things on the plus side is the outdoor breakfast and the pool. What we did miss was coffee and tea making facilities in the room.

There is no AC in any hotel room (besides the suites), which made it impossible to sleep at night, especially when travelling with small children. Poor cleaning. Sheets were not changed during our entire stay and the floor was not properly cleaned. Room in itself badly needing an uplift. All in all, overly priced hotel which was not worth the money.
