Sadly not the best. Tiny bedroom which required one person to climb over the other, as bed was against a wall. Lunch and evening meal only offered at sister hotel. Hotel in need of serious renovation. Some staff were helpful although working under very difficult conditions. Frequently stay in hotels and was amazed that we couldn't book in till 4.00 Seriously.....all in all dated disappointing and all meals were pretty awful.

Absolutely ruined my birthday weekend, damp, lights hanging from ceiling, dirty, cobwebs, button missing so couldn't use the shower, rips in the bed, i can't believe they would allow people to stay there,we will never return.

A lousy experience. Horrible tiny cramped "Executive" room Which was changed Plates were cold at breakfast. Most of the food on offer was either overcooked or cold. Ran out of fruit . After night out came back to have a night cap but found bar closed at 10pm. Told if we wanted drinks we would have to go to sister hotel

We went to 3 Best Western Hotels on this particular trip, and this was definitely the worst of the three. For a start, check-in time is 4pm, whereas others were 2pm, so room wasn't ready when we arrived. Parking costs £10 per night extra!! Breakfast OK, but very limited choice compared to the others - not a lot of fruit, no meusli, no cakes, pastries, etc., only basic cereals, cooked, toast and croissants. After day out, found room not made up, so no more tea bags, milk etc. On complaining told they only do room if you request it! Looks like their way of getting over staff shortage. Although hotel looked fairly modern, it had air of lack of care - a fire door was never closed despite 'keep closed' notice on it, handle broken off one of windows, mechanism was totally corroded so couldn't close window properly, letting in draft. Thermostatic radiator valve broken off and lying under radiator, someone had scribbled on small table in room. Staff seemed to have rather offhand attitude.
Fantastic reception and restaurant staff

The receptionist who greeted us, allowed us to check in early as our rooms were ready and even offered to carry our bag up. The bar staff member and restaurant managers were really accommodating when we failed to book our meal slot (didn't know we had to) and fitted us in. Our room was super- clean. I cannot praise the staff enough - hope you are showing them you value them by paying them a decent wage Best Western!
