Bien situado.

Nice break away

I booked for 4 nights (Monday to Friday) for myself and my wife to have a restful few days in Bournemouth. Was pleased to see that they did Premier Plus rooms here. I wasn't aware of them before and have stayed in many different Premier Inn hotels over the years. We arrived around 3.30pm on the Monday after driving down from Yorkshire. Fortunately our room was ready. We had room 404. The room was very nice and clean (except the balcony door windows which were filthy). The Premier Plus rooms are very nice with extra space, and better toiletries, a fridge and a coffee machine along with a chair and office chair and a balcony looking straight out to sea. A few things that could be better with the room to follow but none of them take away from the fact this was still a very nice room. It could be improved by having balcony furniture to enjoy the view and afternoon sun, the TV needs to be bigger as the room is bigger than normal rooms so the TV is further away and looks small, drawers- there are no drawers at all in the room and only 6 hangers which is no good when you are doing 4 night stays or longer, bathroom is large and has a huge fabulous shower-but no bath. Would be better with a smaller shower and a bath adding. The chair is very hard. Finally as in present times rooms are not being cleaned during stays it would be good to have a good sized general waste bin on each floor so you can empty excess rubbish on your way out each day. All that said the rooms are very good and we would definitely stay in them again regardless. The hotel staff were all very nice and smiled a lot and always ready to help if needed. We only ate in the hotel once as there was not a big choice on the menu. My wife cannot have cheese as she has reactions so when you took the cheesy items off the menu the choice was limited. What we did have was nice but we couldn't see anything we fancied for other nights so did other things. We didn't have breakfast either as £9.50 is a bit steep so we went to Leo's cafe nearby and gad a superb breakfast for £5.99. The location of the hotel is excellent about as close to the front as you could want. Room 404 has superb views from the balcony of the see front. The pier etc as well as squirrels across the road. This is a fabulous hotel we will definitely return to and wholeheartedly recommend despite the restricted food choices. If you are thinking about it, go for it, you will not be disappointed. If we didn't live so far away I would be going back in a few months rather than next summer.
Could be better

Arrived to room not ready long long queues ,no parking which we knew what we didn’t know was all the undesirables that loiter around the car parks. The room wasn’t that clean windows were filthy but we could live with that for a week. Breakfast was never ready on time always something not cooked or ready and it’s was always luke warm. The staff helped if they felt like it otherwise they ignored you . Definetly felt like hotel was using Covid as an excuse to have less staff and none wore masks .Only good I could find it’s was near everything and we had a balcony room
Where’s our compensation?

We stayed here in early September. Not the best Premier Inn I’m afraid. Breakfast was chaotic, and our room was uninspiring with a view of the fire escape.
I wouldn’t have bothered to write a negative view, but for the fact that we had a lot of trouble with blocked plumbing in the bathroom. We told reception that water was taking a couple of hours to drain from the bath and the sink was blocked. We were advised that a plumber would sort it out that day. Well, he may have tried, but he didn’t succeed! The following day this was remedied, but by this time we’d had two nights and days when we couldn’t use the bath as and when we wished, and even using the basin was limited. This was not a good way to spend a holiday!
We were told that as compensation, we would be refunded the cost of our 4 breakfasts and that this would take 5 working days. This was 2 weeks ago and we have not received the money. I have sent an email to query this and have had no reply.
I’m afraid this has affected my loyalty to Premier Inns.
Are they going to keep their word and issue a refund?
