Fabulous hotel in stunning location

Fantastic overnight stay at Linthwaite House. All parts of the hotel are to a very high standard, the bar and restaurant are very good, and the staff were amazing. Henrock restaurant lived up to expectations and the food, drink and service was impeccable. We stayed in a fell suite with a hot-tub and that was a lovely property with great furnishings and lots of space. The weather was a little cold to explore the 14 acre grounds but they have been well designed and looked after. A real treat for a first visit, in an area where hotels often falls short, and look forward to returning many times.

Disappointing booking experience, so cancelled

Reviewed 13 january, 2022

I booked a suite with hot-tub and dinner in Henrock to celebrate a significant birthday, with my wife. We were really looking forward to our stay, and enjoying the Henrock experience. Given the significant price that we were paying. Requested an 8pm table at Henrock, but were told via email that we could have either 6pm, or could ‘eat in the bar’. We felt that the tone of the email was rude, and didn’t reflect any recognition of how expensive this one night stay was. If I am booking one of your most expensive rooms AND a dining experience, I expect that there will be a table available and at a reasonable time, without having to request it separately. Comms was slow - always a days delay - so cancelled. I didn’t feel the customer experience was good enough.

An outstanding stay

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful stay. We loved the service, the decor, the grounds, the setting and the food. We stayed in room no 3 with fabulous views over Lake Windermere. We loved sitting in the conservatory with the papers looking out over the lake or by the fire with a cocktail. We were looked after so well but it has a wonderful relaxed feel. We also ate in henrock as part of simon rogan's anniversary celebrations..what an amazing experience. This was our first visit and we would love to go back.

Set in the beautiful countryside this hotel is within walking distance of bowness. Fabulous food and spacious rooms. The grounds were beautiful we will definitely be returning and spending a little longer there next time. A lovely place to stay in the Lake District.
