Chosen totally at random for a birthday getaway weekend break. Lovely, charming farmhouse B&B. Janice and Caleb were very welcoming hosts, even booking dinner for us at a local pub. Lovely, immaculately clean room with a lovely en suite shower. Plenty of refreshments supplied in the room. Very relaxing stay and delicious hearty breakfast, beautifully presented. We loved our weekend break and will definitely be back for a return visit, and to do some walking! Hadrian's wall a 5 minute walk away. Quiet unspoiled location, with lovely hosts. Highly recommended

Lovely, comfortable room. Comfy bed, good shower. Warm welcome. Superb breakfast with plenty of choice and delicious home cooking. A quiet, restful and peaceful atmosphere. I can't really think how it could be improved to be honest. A great night's stay.
Made our stay really comfortable and looked after us

The place is spotless and beautifully decorated. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We are vegans and every alternative was catered for and of a high quality. Janice gave us a lift to the start of our walk as soon as we needed it. A great start to our holiday.

I stayed in a spotlessly clean, obviously recently refurbished modern en-suite single room (the shower, basin & loo being in an alcove rather than a fully enclosed bathroom). The only thing which would have improved the room for me would be better blackout curtains or blinds (one thing where the mainstream chain hotels like Premier Inn generally win over independent hotels and B&Bs). The creamy indulgent porridge at breakfast time was the best I had on my Hadrian's Wall walking holiday, and the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on a muffin was also good (and a more manageable portion than the mountain served at one of the other places I stayed). Janice is a welcoming hostess, and booked a table for me at a local(ish) pub 4 miles away which has its own taxi to collect and drop off customers, and arranged a lift in the morning to drop me at the start of the Hadrian's Wall trail. Excellent service!
