More about the hotel
Problems in our rooms.
We are a group from Greece in Erasmus program. We are disappointed. A lot of problems in our rooms. We have not heet in our rooms (in the middle of the winter)!!! Problems in electrical in our rooms. Not hot water!!! We eat downstairs in a restaurant of the hotel with not heat!!! Unforgettable.
Perfect hotel!
I was very well surprised by this Hotel! It is a 3 stars hotel, having almost the right to be a 4 stars, almost because, it doesn’t have a Restaurant. Otherwise, the breakfast is near to a four stars. But what surprised me was the size and quality of the room where I stayed. Totally updated, a queen-size bed. USB fitted sockets all around the room. Very clean. Also, the price was lower than other 3 stars with pretensions, in the same city. Certainly an excellent choice. To add the staff sympathy to help, all the time.
Outstanding Value
For the price we paid I was expecting a fairly budget hotel but what we got was an exceptionally good hotel. We'd travel from Porto by train and arrived in Braga around 9:30am and given it's proximity to the station we went there first to drop bags off. First impressions from the outside aren't great as the building looks quite run down but as soon as you walk into the lobby this changes. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who was happy to securely store our bags for us whilst we went off exploring the city. In fact he did tell us that 2 of the 3 rooms we'd booked we're ready for check in, which was great given that it was only 9:30am! The rooms are a really good size, beds exceptionally comfortable, nice sized bathroom and a balcony overlooking the fields behind the hotel (just a shame that the weather prevented us from using it!). The following morning we had the continental breakfast which was excellent with a wide range of hot and cold food. We paid for a budget hotel and was expecting just that. In reality what we had was much better. Would happily recommend this place and if I ever have a need to return to Braga i'll almost certainly book this hotel again.
Great value/ location
Very close to City Centre (5 minute walk), offering great value. Room was large and clean, modern, Staff very helpful. I would recommend the hotel to anyone, and I’d use it again. Top tip: park in car park opposite hotel, it costs less.
Ok stay with large group
Stayed here as part of a group trip. Very good location and the rooms are lovely and modern - recently refurbished. Not in the prettiest part of town but very handy for hopping on the train and only a short pleasant walk from the more historic part of town. Staff are not unpleasant, seem very efficient if not overly friendly. However it is hard for them dealing with large groups staying at this time of year. Brava is an absolute gem of a place, beautiful, historic and friendly. Would love to come back with partner but flights to Porto are not very frequent and it is a long journey from Lisbon.
