Retro Hotel on Lincoln Highway
Reviewed 13 october, 2022
We certainly enjoyed staying at this immaculately-kept older hotel after spending the day moseying around on Lincoln Highway. Friendly owners/innkeepers. Very clean room and comfortable beds. It was so nice to be in a room with windows that actually opened and closed—we got to sleep with our windows open for a change of pace.

Terrible customer service

Zero empathy customer service! I accidentally booked this property in a completely wrong location from where we were going. My fault, of course, but with a newborn I haven’t been sleeping much, some wires crossed… these things happen. I realized the mistake almost immediately. Called 10 min later. The clerk said that if only I booked directly not through expedia … but then when expedia rep called a few min later asking for a waiver, the hotel refused.

It saddens me not to leave a 5 star review....

We've stayed at this motel at least 4 times. Let me start by saying this is the CLEANEST motel you will ever find! But this time, it just didn't live up to our hype. They did honor our room request which was nice and appreciated! However, it had been over 90 degrees that day and when we walked into the room, it was a sauna! They hadn't turned on the AC unit, nor opened the windows, prior to us arriving around 9:30pm. The AC unit worked well. However, it did take an hour or more to cool the room down. The bathroom is super clean. Shampoo and Conditioner and soap included. HUGE, deep bathtub. However, it was slow to drain. The beds and pillows are REALLY comfrotable! Breakfast is not as good as it once was. A mini frig full of cold prepacked single danishes, pop tarts, muffins, tiny yogurts and oddly enough- a variety of brands of premade breakfast sandwiches. Why they aren't all the same brand, kind of struck me as odd. They had one chicken biscuit, two sausage egg and cheese biscuits but different brands between the two, and one ham, egg and cheese muffin. There were 5 of us and the kids took 3, so I feel bad for the people after us that wanted some. My kids always liked the orange juice, but it tasted strange and tingled the tongue this time. There was apple juice, coffee and a hot cocoa packet. You also have to take the food and drinks with you. At one time, there were bagels and cream cheese, donuts, fresh foods that you could eat in the motel office or outside at a lawn table. However, this time the woman in the morning said we had to take it to go. She also was not friendly at all. John is the one usually at the desk. He's professional, friendly and will chit chat a bit. However, the woman in the morning was none of those. The lady the evening we arrived (different person than in the morning) was nice enough. I had also called earlier in the week to see what the pool hours were. However, when we arrived just a few days later, there was a sign on the pool gate that said it was closed for the season. The nicer woman in the evening when we checked in said that the pool pump was broken. We'll probably give this place another try just because it's SUPER CLEAN and it's been good in the past.... but if the experience next time is the same as this time.... we'll probably be looking for a new place to stay. Break my heart to say that, but that's how I feel.....

Nice clean hotel inside and outside but stong mold smell!
Reviewed 29 june, 2022
The hotel was old but quaint and well maintained with the owners living on-site. They had beautiful flowers and nice views. The room was very clean and spacious including the bedding and bathroom so we could not figure out where the strong mold/musty smell was coming from. It was overwhelming when we opened the door. The air conditioning was not on in the room and it was closed up so we thought if we opened the windows we could air it out. I have allergies so I took an allergy pill and thought it would be fine once we aired it out. I woke up in the middle of the night stuffy with a bad headache which lasted the entire next day. The next day my husband noticed there was a basement under the hotel and are assuming they might have a water issue in the basement?? For the owners I would recommend putting dehumidifiers under the hotel rooms and leaving the air conditioning on to keep air circulating and figure out what you need to do to get rid of the mold. I know you want to save money being family owned but you need to figure out where the mold is and get rid of it as I saw previous comments about mold two years ago. For guests that have allergies if you have to stay here I would ask for a second story room in the hotel portion that has two stories and hopefully, you won't have to deal with what I had to deal with that night and the next day. We were in Room 121.

This place sparkles! ✨

We had a last minute need for a hotel and booked the room. We saw the great reviews for cleanliness and the rate was better than the other local hotels. We simply needed a place to sleep for a few hours. We walked into the room and were completely surprised with how well taken care of our room was. The shower sparkles—how often can you say that? There were so many attention to detail items I noticed in the morning before we left. They offer pineapple juice! They have stunning landscape with lots of calla lilies. The most calla lilies I have ever seen. The bird and hummingbird feeders were nice. I would love to revisit this family owned Quality Inn. They take pride in their place and it shows. It is truly the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in.
