Owned by the National Trust this is a truly ancient pub - we were lucky to be recommended to it - we went for dinner - seated in a horse box - warm and well decorated for Christmas - we went into the pub for coffee and drinks after dinner. The staff were lovely and very professional, the food delicious and the ambience /building amazing.
One of my favourite places

I have previously reviewed and raved about The Fleece just spent a week in Bretforton and ate here every night . The service is second to none , with most polite , friendly and welcoming staff, the6 take time listen to you and offer great advice nothing is to much for them. Absolute credit to themselves and the pub. The food is so good, so tasty , plentiful and a great choice . Even when full you don’t wait long for a beautiful plate of food . I particularly loved the pies and faggotts . The Fleece Dirty Chips are to die for . You will never go hungry, the veg is cooked to perfection. Sunday lunch was as it should be a real treat. Our first time in winter here and the log fires were so nice . All in all thank you to everyone for making our week so relaxing and enjoyable . Added bonus is the pub is dog friendly our 11 year old Labradoodle loved the dirty chips as much as I did.
Excellent Birthday Lunch

We booked a table for lunch and we could not have been happier with both the service and the food. We were seated in the area next to the log fire which was lovely on a cold day. We all went for the pie option on the menu and after reading previous positive reviews we were not disappointed with large chunks of juicy beef, thick cut chips, tasty gravy and nicely cooked fresh veg ,all in all highly recommended . Well worth a visit.

Fabulous old pub full of character! We stayed in the Master’s Bedroom which is small but perfect. Great food for dinner ( we had pie) and also great breakfast. Good beers on tap and reasonable prices. Only downside - the en- suite shower was a bit feeble. But nevertheless we will definitely stay again

My husband and I found this fantastic inn while cycling around the cotswolds in July , we stopped for a drink and just fell in love with the place. We tried to book a overnight stay and got a date for November as most dates are booked well in advance and we can understand why ! We have just spent two amazing nights in the master bedchamber room which was extremely comfortable and cozy . The ambiance here is like no where else it’s just incredible! You can not explain in words how it feels to sit in front of the open fire with a cup of mulled cider !!!! The staff could not be more welcoming , friendly and helpful. As were the locals in the pub . The food was fabulous and service great . In a word it was brilliant! We cannot wait until our next visit! Highly recommend it.
