Great Hotel!!
Stayed here twice. Great customer service. Friendly staff. Got me the room I wanted. And really cares about Marriott elite members. And definitely a plus 1 that delivery people can go up to the room. Keep up the good job. Will definitely be back!!
Fantastic staycation in this excellent new hotel
I've stayed at the Bridgewater Marriott across the street several times and while it's a great property, they are really using Covid as an excuse to not provide ANYTHING for guests. I noticed that the AC had opened recently and decided that I'd give it a try over Thanksgiving and my birthday. I was thrilled that they responded quickly to my questions about what they were offering during Covid, trying their best to offer a 'normal' hotel experience. Luckily I was able to check in when I arrived really early on my birthday. The GM was super friendly and explained the breakfast and bar offerings. While AC hotels are known for their European-style breakfast, featuring yummy Iberico ham among other things, it's not practical to offer that buffet at this time. However, the fact that they ARE providing a cold, grab-and-go breakfast shows that this hotel is, as stated above, trying to make things semi-normal. They had a large variety of individual cereal and oatmeal containers, fruit, yogurt, bagels, granola and coffee and tea. I may be missing something too. I didn't try the coffee from the espresso machine, but I heard that it's great. (Oops, next time!) The hotel is also located about 3 minutes (or less) from a Starbucks and maybe 5-10 minutes from a few diners and other spots for breakfast. I was glad that I could get something to get my day started so that was great. My room was super comfy. AC Hotels are really minimalistic in design but not so much that you think you're in Ikea. The brand has a cool. comfortable vibe and they really want to connect with the local area. I will say though that the vibe isn't so cool that I felt old or out of place. Rather, it was like a hotel version of Cheers-comfy and friendly. The king size bed was awesome and the couch was very comfy as well. The room doesn't really have a closet, rather cubbies to store your clothes. I was only there 2 nights and honestly, I'm used to living out of my suitcase. The bathroom was very nice as well. I LOVED the scent of the toiletries and I scoured the vendor's website but it seems that the type used in this hotel isn't available to buy. Bummer!! There's a small fridge, some bottled water, a HUGE tv and plenty of channels. Noise wise, I didn't really hear any. My room overlooked the highway and what will be a new restaurant that's adjacent to the hotel. (It was Zinburger but I think Covid killed that chain). There really aren't any views per se, as it's a corporate area so I didn't care. As far as bar/food options, there will be a new, rooftop bar/restaurant opening as soon as things get a little more normal, so I'll be looking forward to that. However, don't be alarmed, the lobby bar is open to serve cocktails and they have PLENTY of liquor so you'll find something you like. Try the signature Gin & Tonic! (Though they were maybe out of the Fever Tree tonic when I was there. Hashtag Tonic Snob here! LOL) Interestingly, the hotel features local Sourland Mountain Spirits. That's a craft liquor distillery located maybe 15-20 minutes away. If you need something to do, take a ride down there. It's a family owned business and their gin, vodka, whiskey and rum are all fantastic. I believe that the hotel is also serving tapas-style appetizers, but I neglected to try those. I'm going back to the hotel this week so I'll have a chance to investigate. Overall, I really loved my staycation at the AC Hotel in Bridgewater. I wish them much success but honestly, I am secretly glad that it's a slower time in that area, as I'm able to get away and have some peace and quiet! (Call me selfish). As far as cleanliness, social distancing and Covid mitigation, there's hand sanitizer all over, EVERYONE was properly wearing masks and the place is spotless. There is no daily housekeeping service although you can get additional linen as needed. The housekeepers also wait 48 hours after guests check out before cleaning the rooms. I did wipe everything down (as is my practice these days) but there wasn't a speck of dirt on my Lysol wipes so they're doing it right! I applaud hotels that are NOT cutting corners during the pandemic. I do understand why many are but if some can do it, others can as well, and as part of the Marriott family, I believe that hotels carrying the Marriott name ALL need to step it up. No one expects full service at any hotel these days, but to those who aren't even making coffee and providing at least a grab and go type breakfast, you're just not even trying. I cannot wait to get back to the AC Hotel. The entire team here just GETS IT-that intangible thing that makes self proclaimed hotel snobs like me really happy to be there!
Wonderful stay excellent staff
We stayed here for 1 night while visiting family who live in the area. Check-in was fast and efficient. Kaye at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly.. We were absolutely thrilled that the lounge bar was open and thoroughly enjoyed sitting there and having a few after dinner drinks. Remy was very personable and we enjoyed talking with him. The hotel provides a complimentary continental breakfast and there was a nice selection of items to choose from. The room was spacious and clean. I was ecstatic that the fitness room was open and had enough equipment to get an adequate workout. The hotel has implemented good social distancing/cleaning protocols and we felt extremely safe. We highly recommend this Marriott property.
Great hotel and staff
Spent Sunday night here. Vincent was very helpful. It was delightful to be able to sit at a bar and have a drink. It was socially distanced. The hotel was very clean and sleek. I liked having a mini fridge and safe in the room. Breakfast was cereal, bagels, yoghurts and a really yummy yoghurt parfait with blueberries and granola. I like the espresso/capachino coffee machine. I enjoyed my latte this morning. Will definately go back. So many restaurants in the area.
Great stay!
What a beautiful hotel. We had a great room on the 6th floor. The beds were SOOO comfortable and the room was so quiet (except for the pelting rain, more on that later). The shower was also very nice, with a rain shower and hand held as well. The sink in the bathroom is VERY shallow. It looks cool, but not so functional. The toiled is rectangular, weird but comfortable and the seat is a soft close so it won't slam and wake someone. Safe in the room. Little fridge is great with a clear glass front. The room was spotless! Unfortunately for us, a huge storm hit and the rain was coming down sideways and you could hear it hitting something metallic outside which was annoying, but this was not your usual storm. It didn't happen when it was regular rain. Keep in mind this was no ordinary storm. The lobby has a Jura machine that makes amazing espresso and cappuccino! If you haven't had coffee from a Jura, get ready to be spoiled....and it's available any time. Breakfast was fine for a pandemic time and there was plenty of cereal and instant oatmeal, fruits, power bars, etc. They have a pool table...a good pool table with nice rails and straight cues. My son and I played a lot of pool! Hotel staff were ALL very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately we had to leave the second night because the storm knocked out a transformer and the entire area lost power. We were willing to stay but the battery back up lost all the lights. The staff did reserve rooms at another Marriott and did not charge us. Unfortunately we were on the 6th floor and had to walk up and down twice to get our bags, etc.. The first time was fine, but the second time, when the battery backups lost power they were dark and I guess the generator didn't cover the lights in the stairs or hall way. Luckily it was still light enough and some light came through the windows. We made it down without an issue. When we were leaving one of the workers told us to come back to play pool any time we wanted. It was very considerate. I would easily stay here again and have NO hesitation recommending this property.
