Great views and service
We stayed in room 104 which had a fantastic view of the Palace Pier from the bath, which was a real highlight. Although the room is on the first floor so worth shutting the shutters when you get in and out! The room had a huge comfy bed and all the amenities you would expect. There is road noise (as you would expect given the hotel is on the main road) but it didn’t disturb us. The owners and staff were all lovely and super helpful. Parking is first come first served but there was room for us. If you can get a sea view room at a good price, go for it.
Great place
Thank you for the welcoming service and and delicious food as well as making me feel relaxed and happy which is an important part of hospitality after all isn't it.I will bring my daughter when I come back next time thank you again
Amazing stay!!!!
The staff make this hotel! Welcoming from the minute you walk through the door and it seems like the really care about each guest having a good time and feeling comfortable! Amazing cocktails made by Anthony and Jess in the cocktail bar (I think those were their names!), delicious breakfast and stunning views from the bar and our room! Would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and memorable trip away :) x
Fantastic hotel
We came to Brighton during the middle of Covid-19 second wave and enjoyed our stay so much we booked and extra night. Our first hotel was fully booked so we opted for Drakes and what a great decision. Lovely room, with an in room bath, great views and a lovely cocktail in the bar to finish our stay. We would definitely have stayed longer if we had been able to.
The most relaxing night of my life
Drakes Review I stayed at Drakes for 1 night in the feature room. I wanted a relaxing evening to myself and it was the closest to a perfect hotel stay I've ever had. Before i arrived Richard answered my questions via email and even called the day before i arrived to see if i needed anything. Linda helped me check in and her pure joy and enthusiasm when showing me to my room set the tone for the whole evening. Linda you are absolute joy and an asset to the hotel. Thank you for everything. Julie and the young lady (sorry i didnt get your name) who were on reception the next morning were brilliant, Julie even helped me with prices and dates for my return stay. I ordered takeaway twice and the team bought it straight up to my room with everything i needed. Nothing is too much for the team at Drakes, i must've called reception at least 10 times and each time they were quick and efficient with all my requests. They even bought me a wine cooler for a bottle of wine i bought with me as i wanted a specific type of rosè wine. Now to the room itself. Opening the door to the feature room made me feel like i was in a movie. The pictures on the website do this room no justice. The view from the window was spectacular, and the freestanding bath was inviting. The bed was massive, and absolutely the comfiest bed I've ever slept in. The wet room is large and clean, and the shower is divine (and i dont normally enjoy showers much). The big windows open up onto a small balcony, and all have shutters for privacy. Be warned though the windows are quite loud when you open and close them, which i learnt when i went to close it at 1am. The bath took a while to fill up but boy was it worth the wait. Nothing is quite as relaxing as sipping wine in a bath. The robe actually fit me, which is a surprise as im normally a little to big to comfortably fit in them. The slippers were a little to small for me but looked comfortable. The TV was a little dusty at the back, and it felt a little precarious when i swivelled it to face the bath but it was large enough. I didnt use the Sky box as i bought my playstation to watch Netflix. The only things i would improve is the speaker (I wasnt able to plug my phone in and it was hard to find a radio station) and i think a small squeegee would be perfect in the bathroom as it took a while for the floor to dry. I ordered an esspresso martini from the bar as id never tried one, I didnt love it but as I have no point of reference i assume it's just not to my taste. I ordered pancakes with nutella for breakfast, and they even swapped the banana for peanut butter for me. When i woke up I fancied poached aggs on toast, and adding this to my order was no problem. The only thing missing was salt and butter for my toast, but it didnt bother me too much. The caffatiere coffee was to die for, and sipping it on the balcony looking at the sea was a perfect start to my day. If you are planning on booking the feature room, don't plan on leaving it much, I left for about an hour and felt annoyed that I'd missed out on an hour of bliss. As I've already stated the team are really what makes this hotel. Thank you to everyone for a perfect stay, it was exactly what i needed. I'm very excited to return with my partner in the future and will be booking soon.
