DO NOT STAY HERE - disgusting
This place is actually called Horizon. Photos are misleading. I paid £89 for a single ensuite room - it was daylight robbery. I had a long journey, checked in, found there were no lights in most of the corridors, & small table lamps were on the floor with dangerous trailing wires. My room (52) was in a pitch dark corridor with NO lights at all, so I had to go back to prop open another door in order to see the keyhole. My door did not lock on the inside. I could have cried. I was hit by a nasty smell in the room, & immediately saw blood stains on the chair. There was only a grubby shower, NO toilet. Ensuite means including a toilet. I think previous guests used the shower as a toilet. The room was not clean, and there were holes on the wall above the bed with large bits of plaster missing. I went to reception to ask why I had no toilet, & to ask for a room with one. I asked where the toilet was, & was told it was on the floor above mine. I complained about the blood & dirt, to no avail. I also found out the price did not include breakfast. I could not be moved to another room, & could not afford to leave & pay for another hotel. When I went up to find the toilet, it was in a dirty room with a half-constructed shower. There was no window covering, & if you sat on the toilet, all the surrounding buildings could look in on you. In the morning when I looked out of my window, there was a rough sleeper asleep under my window, and at 9am alcoholics started to congregate on the grass to drink. This B&B would not satisfy trading standards, is dangerous & dirty. DO NOT STAY here under any circumstances. I am attempting to get my money back.

I had to hold back the tears!
I had a long journey down to Brighton for work. After finding this place, it looked ok on the exterior. But just ok. Check in was relatively painless, but as I begin pulling my suitcase up the hodgepodge of staircases to my single room, my heart sank. Once in the room I rang my journey planner to explain they got me a different room of a early return journey home. Odd bits of electrical are badly hidden. The walls were damaged and chipped. The carpet sticky. I went to look for my bathroom. The TV wouldn’t play because of the Ariel and the furniture was grubby and broken. I had to walk down 2 flights of stairs to find one shower and toilet which looked as though it had been taken from a 1990’s council sports centre. Thankfully I was relocated to a lovely hotel a few hundred metres down the road I will say I am glad I didn’t have to use the wooden ladder that was the fire escape
Close to Brighton centre
I arrived late Saturday afternoon, after knocking at doors at various hotels all I wanted to do was get settled in. The room offered was priced at £166 for two nights bed & breakfast. The room was modern and bright but three flights of stairs. The following day Sam [manager] offered me a room on the ground floor, and took care of my luggage for me. One serious problem, no car parking places. On street parking is available, paying at the machine. Nice place, clean, modern, friendly and very close to the centre of town.

Before i start i would like to say i am a big tripadvisor. With over 50 reveiws. I am fair and honest.99 pcent of my reveiws have had top marks. This hotel is known as the horizon so unless you no the name has changed the bad reveiws will not appear. Good points. A sea veiw Bad points. No storage in the room.no shelves drawers nothing. A tiny mirror in the bathroom. No hairdryer. No iron or board. You can request an iron but they are black and will ruin your clothes. No side lamps.breakfast not good but perfect eggs. My biggest concern was the smell. The bathroom smelt like it had been cleaned with a wet ash tray. I am not sure if it is the chemical they use but please change it. I heaved even cleaning my teeth. Nothing inviting about this place at all. Infact i would call it a hostel that needs some serious TLC
