Basic room, great location
We booked to stay at The Q at relatively short notice and ended up in a standard triple room on the 4th floor. We only paid about £168 for three nights so were really pleased with the price. The room was basic but clean with some well worn furniture however it served our purpose as a base point well as the hotels location is excellent. Close to the beach, British airways i360, upside down house and the pier. Lots of restaurants close by too. The problem was with 3 people in the room it was very cramped and in the summer heat was very, very hot at night. Being in the attic at the top of the building with just a small window didn't help either. The fan provided did help but was so noisy couldn't be on whilst sleeping. The bathroom was tiny with a half sink and a toilet with a wonky seat however the shower was excellent and worked very well. I'm sure if you can get a superior/deluxe room you would find these more suitable and spacious. Breakfast was continental only (after covid lockdown lifted) but there was a good range of cold food, cereal, danishes etc. Hotel was clean throughout with lots of hand sanitizer stations and distancing measures in place although breakfast was less structured. There is an underground carpark opposite (under the green) which is apparently about £20 per day (unconfirmed) however we were put in touch with a lady who rents her driveway for £10 per night which saved us some money. She's about a 10min walk from the hotel. Overall we enjoyed Brighton very much but only felt we wanted to be in the room to sleep which was fine in the end. Good price but try to avoid the standard rooms if possible. To leave on a positive it's a lovely old town house in a great location and all the staff were pleasant.
Amazing value amazing staff and perfect location.
If you are spending time exploring Brighten, this is your perfect location to stay. Regency house spacious , Elegantly, Tastefully furnished Super clean, Lovely staff. Underground car park £18 pounds for 24 hours 2 mins away. We had room 4 with views over the square, Tea and coffee and biscuits in the room Lots of mirrors and spacious, Comfortable bed. Had a good nights sleep only awoken in the morning by the waves from the near by sea. Shops,, Reataurants 2 mins walk Great base for exploring, For the very reasonable price it is excepional, A great find. I will stay there again. Why pay more?
Nice little hotel
We really enjoyed our stay at the Queensbury. The location was perfect, the cost for a room per night was such a great deal, breakfast was basic, serve yourself, but that's how we like it. The coffee was great too! Our room was cosy, warm and family friendly. The staff were very nice. Our room was clean, bedding, towels etc. The view of the beach was lovely and I could hear the waves at night. The only thing I'd say is if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs as you can hear the other room doors closing and such, but I wouldn't let that put you off cause the atmosphere is, well it's like going home for the weekend. I will be booking again.
Brilliant unexpected find
A very date building which has been turned into a B and B and although three star it actually was surprisingly very good value for money. We had a room with a corner based window overlooking regent square plus views of the ocean fabulous on a wet stormy day watching the waves from a dry cosy room. Clean with friend staff and excellent continental breakfast covering all dietary requirements. Will stay again. Only slight criticism was our toilet seat which once reported was immediately sorted.
Overnight
I've booked this hotel for my brother and my dad and said it was okay in general. They slept comfortably well. You get what you paid for. The only thing is they mentioned that for breakfast they only served bread and butter with no other options which was disappointing.
