Quality Stay for Great Value
This was a fantastic hotel for the price. Yes, it is a bit of a ways from College Station; however, it was an excellent value considering the quality. The clean room, very friendly staff, and delicious breakfast service complete with Texas-shaped waffles all made my stay quite pleasant. Since I was here for business, I did not use any of the other amenities, so I cannot speak for those. But the most important aspects of the hotel were all excellent. I would certainly recommend staying here if you are traveling to Bryan or College Station.
Great place, great price, clean
The people are very friendly. The ‘breakfast ‘ area is an open space right in the lobby when you are welcome to sit, play cards whatever, whenever. Breakfast good. They have my favorite coffee machine which has constant reg or decaf. Had a very minor situation with the room which was fixed within 5 minutes. Entire area very clean. Good laundry facilities. Try to be there over a Tuesday night, because the owner caters in a dinner for all the guests!
New in Bryan
Working in Cameron, I still drove the 45 minutes to stay here. When nothing is happening (Texas A&M related) the rates are great for this hotel. My room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was fine. It’s located (walking distance) right next to a big gas station and Denny’s. Parking is tight but I assume bigger rigs could park at the gas station. I would stay again.
Great place
Had a great stay at this hotel everyone was friendly the manager approached us at breakfast asking how our stay was. The staff was so friendly and I couldn't ask for a better night's sleep I will definitely be back to this hotel again in the future.
Missed Opportunities................................
We located this new property when driving into College Station for a couple of nights. It was early evening and the parking lot was nearly deserted. Upon entering and while talking to the Desk Clerk we learned the hotel had just recently opened. In fact, it smelled new and nice. When the clerk told us of the available rooms, I asked, since the hotel did not seem very busy, why not upgrade us to a suite for the regular room rate. She went to talk to her manager to ask and when she returned she informed us the manager had refused our request. We were tired from a long day of travel so we took the standard room. On our way to the elevator we encountered the manager who informed us the hotel had just opened the rates were already discounted and she was not going to alter that. We are former innkeepers ourselves and tried to explain to her it may be a good marketing practice to upgrade guests when possible but she made it clear she was not about to do that in a rather brusk manner and walked off. As I said, we were tired but had we not already checked in we would have left at that moment to find another property. The room was spotless, the fixtures all worked and the mattress was comfortable. We have no complaints about that. All the other staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Now, tot he title of my review, The manager's attitude and manner caused us to decide we would stay one night and no more. We were in town for what turned out to be 4 nights. All the rest were spent at another property nearby. The upgrade would not have cost the property any money because the room sat vacant that night anyway. The manager's decision to give the absolute minimum and her brusk manner cost this property 3 room nights . That revenue will never, can never be recouped. A rather inauspicious beginning for a new property, in our opinion.
