Breakfast in edible
Reviewed 16 november, 2021
The breakfast was in edible, the bacon was burnt black and the eggs was floating all over the plate in oil. The management are not very helpful or apologetic Worst place I’ve ever stopped at. It was for my wife’s 50 birthday wish we had not bothered

Disappointing - Nearby Premier Inn better comfort and value
Reviewed 9 november, 2021
What a disappointing hotel this is. Staff are great by the way but dealing with premises that leave a lot to be desired and processes which are anything but client friendly. Still not doing daily room refresh, paper cups in room not china. Toilets do not flush well, water in cisterns appears to have been reduced. Had to move room as shower had no pressure. Noisy plumbing all night on and off, water pump?? Rooms could do with refurbishing. No lift if you are on other than ground floor. Restaurant and bar areas totally uninviting- barn style comes to mind. Has a pool and leisure centre which might be good but did not use so no idea. Car parking OK but steep steps to reception and entrance. On a very busy road so ask for a room at the back if noise bugs you. Premier inn round the corner probably better bet and cheaper.
Nice quiet room

We requested a quiet room and were given room 12 at the back of the hotel. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The only drawback is that there is very little storage space and we didn't like the shower curtain in the bath. The recption staff were pleasant and helpful. The restaurant is not very exciting but the food was OK and the service was good. The location is good for visiting the area and there is a good free car park so we were satisfied with our stay.
No Afternoon Tea
Reviewed 4 november, 2021
I had booked an afternoon tea on Groupon on the 30th September 2021 for Saturday 30th October 2021 for my Husbands birthday. I received an email on the 30th Sept from the manager just asking if we had any dietary requirements etc. We were looking forward to it. When we arrived the receptionist looked puzzled as if what were we doing there. The manager came out to tell us curtly that all afternoon teas were cancelled and that he had cancelled them 5 weeks ago due to staff shortages. He told us that Groupon should have emailed us but I had not received an email. We did not get an apology for the situation, instead the manger showed me a list proving that the afternoon tea was cancelled. I told the manager as he had my email address that he should have emailed me but he told me it was Groupon's responsibility. Even then still not an apology but if he had cancelled them 5 weeks ago, why did they still accept my booking? We will not be returning, I have cancelled the afternoon tea with group on explaining why. If the manager was a bit more courteous and apologetic I would not have cancelled. This just ruined what was going to be a nice afternoon birthday treat.
