February trip
About a 10 minute walk from Opera station on metro line 1. Staff very helpful. Room clean and bed very comfortable. Breakfast typical continental style but sufficient choice for a veggie like me. My only slight moan only one power point available in the bedroom which meant I need to juggle charging my phone/kindle/iPad. Overall I would happily stay here again
Convenient place to stay in Budapest
Cotton House is very near the center, restaurants, train station and bus ride of about 14 minutes to the biggest thermal baths in Budapest. The staffs are helpful, not the conversational types but professionals. The room's clean and enough space for couple. The bathroom is also clean. I didn't feel dusts while walking barefoot around. Breakfast is great, buffet with a lot of selection. Overall, you get what you paid for.
Quaint
Very close to center of Budapest.about 5 minutes walk and in the business/restaurant/entertainment part of the city Very clean old world charm Decor arty and reminiscent of the bygone era Breakfast is the only meal available but it's very good (as in most hotels of this type in Europe) I had a room with spa bath.this had very little water spray power and was dirty around the edge where the tub fits the base
Nice place not run nice
The hotel has old charm and is situated in a convenient location. Also has a beautiful breakfast buffet. But we had to rate low because of a few basics not working. They told me every day the elevator isn't working only since few days ago and will be fixed today. It was never fixed. Then I read review it didn't work in June. Their excuse was it works from one floor above. That also was a lie. We pushed button from upstairs. It didn't come. They lie a lot. AC never worked. The room was hot at night. Management is either not involved with daily problem or doesn't train employees right. One employee gave us packed breakfast for early morning checkout. It was garbage. He won't give us one item from a hundred item buffet. I think the management never learned or taught employees what real customer service is about.
You get more than you pay for
Not sure whe quit negative comments about small rooms come from, especially when all the info you need is on the hotels.com website as far as size. I'm solo on this trip, and the room (#1) is just fine. A bit loud, but I travel everywhere with ear plugs, as a mouse fart would wake me up. No issues. Room is small, but clean, adequate for my use (sleeping and showering). Breakfast included, again...reasonable based on what I paid for the room ($65/night). All the main hot/cold breakfast items. Near the train station, not super close to the attractions downtown...again, my choice. I knew where it was when I booked. Lady at the front counter was very nice, even looking at my short sleeves and telling me "where's your jacket...its cold out" just like my mom. I liked that... but that's me. Not a 5- Star rating for some nitnoid stuff (shower water temp would fluctuate widely while you we in there, drain very slow) ...nothing heartbreaking. I'd stay again.
