Good budget option
The pros - The room and bathroom were a decent size and it was nice and warm given the cold outside. The staff were friendly and helpful which always goes a long way. The breakfast too was fine to get me started for the day. The hotel is walking distance from the tram and the metro which will get you all over the city. The cons - The fridge didn't work, which wasn't a huge issue for me as I was only there a few days so I didn't raise it. However the bed had such a thin mattress and was so hard that I struggled to sleep, and woke up in the mornings with some aches. I'm the sort of traveller who is out and about all day so I'm never bothered about any added amenities, but this was a bit of an issue for me. If the mattress comfort can be improved, then I would recommend staying here. Everything else was good.
Friendly basic hotel
A small, bit old fashioned hotel. Friendly atmosphere, good location. I had room 101, a spacious room, with high ceilings. The hotel is a bit noisy, but in general all the guests seemed to realize that, so no problem really. Breakfast was sufficient.

Cheap and convenient to the city
This hotel is very convenient to the city, with a metro only a 5 mins walk away. The hotel is good value for money as it is inexpensive. The young man on the front desk was always lovely and welcoming to us and the ladies doing the breakfast were also lovely. The hotel is dated but has everything you need. The shower head holder on the wall was missing a screw so the water was directed at the wall, this was a pain. The foam from the shower gel came up in the middle of the bathroom floor through another drain, this then wet the floor and made it slippy. The breakfast was very limited, I was unable to eat most of it. The kind lady at breakfast went out of her way to go buy gluten free bread for me as there was none at the hotel. We could hear some noise coming from outside while in the room but it was tolerable, however everytime someone showered or flushed the toilet the water made a lot of noise. The mini fridge also didn't work, we tried plugging it in but it made a lot of noise and didn't sound right so we unplugged it again as didn't trust it. The air con system is also extremely noisy, we wanted to have some heat on during the night but had to turn it off due to the noise, this then left us very cold as there were only 2 single quilts for 2 people sharing instead of a bigger quilt. Other than that the room was spacious and generally met our needs. The walls aren't too thick as we could hear talking in other rooms.
Friendly and convenient
I can say that the staff at this hotel were friendly and helpful. They kept the room clean. The bed was just a little uncomfortable but still it was kept nice and clean. If I go to Budapest again I would still stay at this hotel.
