More about the hotel
Great little hotel in the heart of Soho Palermo
I loved staying in the Soho-Palmero barrio. Great restaurants, lots of people walking their dogs, really cool street art and fun bars. A must is The Argentine Experience and Palermo Food Tour...I had such a good time. I stayed at The Glu Hotel at the beginning of my trip. The staff were so helpful, the breakfast was so tasty and the rooms were clean. I walked down to the polo fields and watch polo which is free on Sundays. My favorite barrio La Boca, such a colorful and vibrant barrio. People watch while enjoying a cold drink and listening to music then stroll the streets. There street vendors have some really cool stuff...talented artists. However don't wander too far off the tourists path in La Boca if you're by yourself, the outskirts of the barrio can be a bit rough. And if you like seafood, I found a darling little place...La Pescadoita. I had great service and the food was so good, but I recommend going with a friend...I had the grilled seafood platter and it was way too much food for one person. If you have a sim card then download Cabify (ie Uber/Lyft), it makes getting around the city at a responsible price.
Why choose a small “boutique “ hotel?
Due to the flight suspensions out of Argentina, we booked the Glu last minute. The rooms were as described: we had 35sqm which is loads for 2 large cases, extra large bed, sofa and a food & drink counter. Plus a small balcony. Small but well designed, modern bathroom. It’s the service that does it. We were liked after by 3 different reception staff in our 24 hours. The welcome was lovely - pots of tea and croissants- but the support on what to do, where, travel times was superb. And the handovers seamless so each new member of staff knew who we were and what we wanted. We left feeling very mellow and cared for.
Great staff!
We were there for our son's wedding, and this was one of the wedding hotels. The front desk staff--Caroline, Victoria, Lucas and Diego were on duty while we were there--were exceptional. They knew our names within a day, found restaurants and made reservations, ran after us to make sure we didn't need a cab, and all in all made it a special and personal experience. The room was large and comfortable and had a charming balcony overlooking the courtyard. We had breakfast in our room most mornings, and service was very quick and friendly. Palermo Soho is a lovely, walkable neighborhood, with lots of restaurants, clubs, shops and boutiques. If we go back, this is where we'll stay.
Perfect pick
I planned a year out our anniversary trip and we landed in Palermo Soho at the Glu Hotel for 2 nights in their suite. It was the best place for us to experience BA. we walked around the hood and ate wonderful food. We took an Uber to historical downtown and recoleta cemetery. All was very easy. Hotel staff was great and breakfast on terrace in the morning was special.
Great hotel, great location
From the helpful staff to in-room breakfast to wonderful rooms, we highly recommend the Glu. I’d also highlight strong a/c, comfortable beds, and great towels. The only suggestion would be for solid dividers between the adjoining balconies.
