More about the hotel
Perfect sanctuary. Quiet and in nature.
Perfect stay. Lovely room and fantastic breakfast. The room was perfectly decorated and flowed from the lovely garden area. Kate and David were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was lovingly made and it was great to eat it outside in the fresh air.
Perfect stay in Byron’s little hidden treasure
My husband and I had the best stay at Abelia House. This hidden treasure is only five minutes out of the main town and hidden away in the hinterlands which allowed for us to enjoy the serenity and escape the craziness of the main town. . David was so lovely and helped us with anything we needed. Our breakfast was delicious delivered each morning where we enjoyed it on our little balcony in the sunshine. Couldn’t have been better. We can’t thank you enough for our wonderful stay.
Gorgeous retreat in Byron Bay
This review is well overdue. My husband and I stayed in the Garden Room at Abelia House for 10 nights in January 2019. Kate is an interior designer and the décor was simply stunning. She baked delicious fresh muffins for us each morning and delivered fresh fruits, juice and granola to our verahdah where we watched the pretty birds bathe in the birdbath outside our room. David is an experienced photographer and he gave me some very helpful tips on camera's and photography. I thoroughly enjoyed taking photos of the birds and beautiful surroundings. For us, this was a much needed holiday...so no TV and a very tranquil and luxurious setting ensured we could totally relax and escape the stresses of every day life. We would highly recommend Abelia House to anyone looking for beautiful accommodation in Byron Bay!
Byron Bay Haven
Expect a warm and friendly antiopodean welcome from Kate & David. Abelia House was the fine Australian Homestead that you always imagine. We liked that it was on a private estate, at the end of a long lane, near the edge of the bush with pretty walks. Delicious range of fresh fruit, greek yoghurt, healthy museli, quality tea/coffee, biscuits were left in the room. No breakfast timings or constraints (yay!) and at 8:30am steamy, freshly baked, hot scrummy chunky apple blueberries muffins left on your patio. It was wafting .. cared for, looked after, that said have the best stay with us. The garden is sensational; it is absolutely beautiful, peaceful with local “critters” and birds. It was “national trust / kew gardens / botanic”, natural & beautiful. The interiors are boutique and meticulously set up, fastidiously checked with attention to detail. For English people, this is boutique bed’n’breakfast (better than hotels!) Babington House Australian style, quintessential aussie ”provence", … and the finest Aussie hospitality. David and Kate are authentic Byron Bay residents of 30 years, who have got something unique, personalised, petit & very fine. Plenty of WiFi! No TV - yay! No signal - even better - my husband was on vacation and I’m glad the office was out of range! ps: Abelia honey is delicious - gives manuka a run for it’s money. pss: We wished we had stayed longer as we would have loved to paint & sketch in the garden.
Big variety of tiny birds
Thanks to hosts David and Kate for a wonderful stay. The Garden room was beautiful and it was great to sit and listen to the birds in the lovely garden.Watched the little birds visiting the bird bath. Good continental breakfast. Very peaceful but within 5 mins of Byron.
