What is expected from outside
I did not have any dealings with the hotel. Casino was non-smoking due to covid. Must wear masks. Smoking allowed outside. Only about 150 slot machines, 5 table games. Small casino. Players club open 24/7. Closing at 2am on Friday and Saturdays for now.
Work trip
Do NOT stay here if you need to sleep. Walls in rooms are way too thin! I can here complete conversations of people talking in rooms next to me. Kids are allowed to run up n down hallways. Can here tvs from other rooms.
Reasonable hotel co-located with a smoky casino
We had a group reservation for the hotel that is part of the Robinson Rancheria. The hotel was a good value with large rooms, microwave and refrigerator included, but the decor is badly dated. The mattresses appear to be some type of foam, which was comfortable although unusual. Although the hotel itself is smoke-free, you have to walk through a smoky casino entrance to get to the hotel lobby. Once in the hotel, however, the air quality was fine. One unexpected plus: the gas prices at the Rancheria station across the street were about $1 cheaper per gallon than stations outside the Rancheria.
Staff
POS hotel. Period! If you’re a heavy sleeper and don’t mind the ghetto staff...go for it. otherwise, there are way better choices on the lake. Does have nice beds though. Bring sunglasses to sleep though.
Terrible, terrible, terrible
The casino is very small and very smoky. There is a small bar located here and the employees are more concerned with talking to each other and playing games with each other than they are in helping the customers. The employees also favor their friends that come into the bar. Let me expand on this: When I walked up to the bar there was a female and a male working here. The male was talking to a lady friend that was on the customer side of the counter, they were talking about drinking and other fun things they do, this went on for about 3 or 4 minutes as I stood there. Then when she left he looked at me, then turned towards 2 other guys sitting at the bar, they were talking like they were friends and giving fist bumps, then the bar tender rang a bell for some reason. All this time the female bartender was walking around the bar area and she looked at me a few times. I kept waiting for someone to come take my order. Now about 5 full minutes passed and I finally asked if I could get a drink, the girl turned and looked at the guy bartender who was busy talking to his friends. She finally took my order. Now on to the hotel. The check in desk people were very nice. We got to our room, it is old, small, and needs updating. The TV is a 20" small TV. There is a mini fridge, a very small microwave, and a coffee pot (mini pod type). The room was 90% clean, although it did smell dusty. After we woke up in the morning, we found these 3 white plastic things with 2 large nails in them laying on the floor. It turns out they use these to keep the dust ruffle nailed to the bed. Can you imagine what it would be like it we stepped on one of these? We told the girls behind the desk when we checked out and they didn't seem to care. During the early evening hours (9PM) there was a band playing in the lounge, we were a little hungry so we went to this little café and ordered 1 Philly cheese steak sandwich, paid for it and was told they will call us when it was ready. After 30 minutes we were concerned that we had not received our food yet. We walked over to the check stand and was told it was coming up soon. We sat down and waited another 15 minutes, still no food. We went back to check again, and they could not find our tag. We showed them our receipt and the host remember us, she went back to check again and said it would be right up. Again, 20 minutes, no food. I then asked for the manager, a lady showed up and I asked if she was the manager, she replied that she was the floor supervisor. I told her the entire story and her host agreed. I told the supervisor that she WAS NOT doing her job! I then asked for my money back. She then called a young man over who said he was the manager, he looked to be 21 years old. All 3 of them stood there dumbfounded, then he left and went to the kitchen and there was no cook in there and they could not find any of our tags. After 10 minutes, they finally refunded our money. I then again expressed how terrible this was and that neither the manager or floor supervisor were not doing their jobs. We were very unhappy. It is now 11pm and we were dancing, when all of a sudden the young nice host came over with a Philly cheese steak sandwich. I am not sure who made it if the cook wasn't there. I have no inkling to ever go back here.
