This hotel was the best of a bad situation
I was flying from Quito to La Paz via Lima. My flight from Quito was delayed 3 hours, so I missed my connection in Lima. To make matter worse, there is only one flight a day from Lima to La Paz - and it was at 11:30 pm! LATAM gave me a dinner voucher at the airport and put me at the Holiday Inn, right across the street from the airport. They even covered ground transportation from the airport to the hotel! And what a hotel! LATAM covered all of my meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and I was given a room with a King size bed. It was a beautiful, spacious room. There were 2 end tables with lights, on either side of the bed. There was a desk, 2 chairs, floor lamp, flat-screen TV, luggage rack, and a clothes closet with a safe. Lights were activated by the room key. The beautiful bathroom had a standalone, glass enclosed, waterfall shower (my absolute favourite). My bed was one of the best I even slept in, however it was 4:30 am when I went to bed, so... Breakfast consisted of a buffet, which looked like it had everything - eggs, pancakes, fruit, juice, cereal, cheese, bread, desserts! Lunch and Dinner were from a special, LATAM menu. Lunch consisted of potato salad, chicken and rice. Dessert was a mini cinnamon bun with dulce de leche inside. Unlimited tea, coffee, juice, and water. I'm a semi-vegetarian, so I had vegetarian spaghetti (which was missing cheese and a spoon), a salad, and a mini brownie for dessert. Again, unlimited tea, coffee, juice, and water. There is a gym and something that's between a hot tub and pool. Water wasn't very warm unfortunately. LATAM can strand me at this hotel anytime! I'd stay here again.
A+
Very peaceful and clean place, friendly and welcoming staff, especially Mr. Bora whom went above and beyond all to help me and make my stay in the hotel comfortable as much as possible, was an amazing time and I will for sure recommend this place to everyone visiting Lima.
¡¡BEST overnight before flight!!
I was about two months into my annual first quarter odyssey [14JAN - 07APR2020: Tierra del Fuego] when my much better half contacted me on 12MAR2020 whilst overnighting at the excellent HI-Hostel Versalles Cochabamba to alert me that Bolivia was going to threat level “3” and I needed to return home ASAP. I had no idea what the urgency was about, but I’d been travelling through Peru, Chile, Argentina and now Bolivia. I was kind of tired of being without her; I readily agreed and began buying air tickets back to LimaPERU, the Southernmost terminus of an inexpensive round-trip ticket from Cd. Juárez I’d purchased in November 2019 on AeroMexico. So, the next morning I flew to La PazBOLIVIÀ (two nights; I pedaled the “Death Road” 14MAR), then to Jorge Chávez International Airport, LimaPERU. I was extremely pleased to get a room at this very close-by magnificent hotel—quite a change from my usual accommodation in hostels. It was absolutely perfect for my all-day AeroMexico flight back to Cd. Juárez! I know that when I return, I’ll definitely stay here again—it certainly has my enthusiastic “iWheel of Approval!” Why? Upon my mid-morning arrival at LIM from La Paz, I found the airport absolutely packed with people, all queued up or anxiously trying to buy air tickets to their home countries. I was beginning to understand the gravity of the situation, why I needed to return ASAP: a deadly COVID19 was causing a pandemic and countries were closing their borders to maintain control of the highly contagious virus. In fact, I was waiting in an AeroMexico queue alongside a pair of vacationing Canadian postal agents who were determined to return to OntarioCANADA, I became concerned that my paid-for ticket might not be rescheduled for the next morning. My heart rate increased when the AeroMexico agent told me to return at (15:30)—after this particular queue for Canada was the-booked. My concern increased more when I saw the monitor of flights, many of which were “CANCELADO”! Accepting that I couldn’t do anything further inside this fine albeit crowded terminal, I resolved to at least rest some at the wonderful Holiday Inn, where I had a reservation for the night. Gimpwalking across the heavily-(motor)trafficked Avenida Faucett to the median, then underneath the massive Coca-cola marquee where my most favorite #1 son & daughter-in-law contacted me. [Being well-travelled digital natives, he told me that they would make the rescheduling ticket for me, saving me from having to return to the airport and another lengthy queue.] I presented my ragged (and probably scented!) backpacker self to the friendly reception around noon 15MAR2020. Those professionals quickly checked me in, despite arriving a couple hours before the slated (14:00) time. I absolutely LOVED the lift/elevator, but it took me a few moments to figure out how to operate it. In fact, the concierge saw my initial confusion and rushed over to show me that I had to swipe my key card first. I was extremely grateful, and was soon in room 628, resting, relaxing & refreshing in this exquisite room. Talk about being really glad at not having to return & queue again at the international airport! My joy of this hotel was compounded because I didn’t have to go far to enjoy a delicious evening meal—just an elevator ride down to the ground floor, where server Ricardo gave me his expert attention. My aforementioned joy was exponentially compounded when he told me that the brekkie buffet began at (04:00)—well before other overnighteries I’d been in and have sometimes missed due to my scheduling. My joy was further extended when the shuttle would take me across the seemingly always-congested road to the well-organized international airport departures hall. Without question, this Holiday Inn is one if the most expensive ($$$) overnights I’d had since leaving the USA on 14JAN2020, but it was worth every bit of the charge. ALL staff were attentive to my needs, the accommodation was exceptionally clean/sanitary, the view from the sixth floor was astounding, security was superb, I was welcomed despite my appearance, and it’s proximity to the airport could only be exceeded if the elevator opened at my AeroMexico flight 49 boarding gate! This fantastic hotel certainly has my enthusiastic/hearty/coveted “iWheel of Approval!” When I return, I’ll stay here, especially when making an early (or late) flight at LIM!
Locked In
Stayed at this hotel for approximately 10 days owing to the Coronavirus outbreak. An immaculate and fairly new hotel located across the road from Lima airport. Very clean and bright hotel complete with small swimming pool and gym. Staff professional and highly attentive. The staff were hard working yet friendly and reliable under such difficult circumstances. An excellent stay considering difficult times. Highly recommended.
Friendly and professional in extremely difficult circumstances
Stayed here last week as part of an emergency repatriation flight due to the Covid-19. The hotel staff were amazing. Extremely friendly and professional in extremely difficult circumstances, friendly and helpful. Daniel and Elias, in particular, were most excellent. Many thanks. Hope to stay there again in happier times.
