Always a pre flight day stay

Love to stay here pre flight day…get a great sleep then merely walk the corridor to the check in counters. Was disappointed when our room was not ready on arrival at 5 PM however. But after a very short wait it was ready and our check in hostess apologetically sent us a cheese plate to make up for things. Nice to see that some places and people care about their guests.
Very comfortable, love watching the planes

Finding the hotel was relatively easy. The road system around the airport is quite complicated, but there was sufficient signage to find the hotel even without GPS help. Parking is extra cost, but the lot is large and should always have plenty of space for all guests. Checkin was quick and efficient. One added plus was that the checkin person asked me about parking, and then replaced my ticket with a parking ticket through the hotel, which was reduced cost relative to the normal cost and which allowed in and out privileges. The only glitch was after checkin – it's easy to get on the elevator right by the checkin area, which is not meant for access to the guest rooms; the main elevator bank is further on past the first elevator you see. I was not the only person who was almost fooled by this. Rooms are quite large and are very contemporary in style, with a light airy feel. The hotel construction must be concrete, as noise from other guests was almost nil. The bed is comfortable, with high-quality linens, and the chair by the window was also comfortable. WIFI had quick response time. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good, and service in the restaurant was also very good. I chose this hotel out of all the hotels in the Nisku/Leduc area specifically because I like to watch planes, and the hotel room did not disappoint in that respect, as it has a good view of the tarmac and part of one of the runways. (I had booked a runway view room). Having said that, Edmonton airport is not all that busy, but there was enough activity that it remained interesting, especially in the morning 'rush hour' between around 7-9 AM. The hotel could do more in terms of landscaping around the hotel, as the setting overall seems a bit barren, but nevertheless this is a very nice hotel, and I enjoyed my stay here.

This hotel is very modern...or should I say, CONTEMPORARY!!! From the decor to the lighting, to the music in the lobby and the scent that they pump into the hallways, this place reminds me of The LINQ Hotel on the Vegas strip. Important things to know: - parking is not free as it is next to the Edmonton airport, but as a guest of the hotel, parking will be at a discounted rate. - when you walk in from the parking lot, you'll be surprised NOT seeing a front desk/check in place. Instead you must go to the second floor to get checked it. - this third point is linked to the second point. Why the check in lobby is on the second floor? Because there's a walking bridge that links the airport YEG to this hotel, and this bridge is above ground, that's why it's on the second floor. - if you're allergic to scent, then think twice as aromatic scents are pumped into the elevators and hallways. But rest assured there's no scents inside the rooms. - neon lights - if your vision is not comfortable with bright neon lights, then you may want to consider wearing sunglasses in the lobby as the lighting is designed with Vegas in mind (lobby only) - self serve Starbucks station available. - two restaurants available (no free breakfast though) - the library on the second floor is spacious and nice. Lots of books to read. Overall this hotel is clean and tidy. The staff are very polite and friendly. I will totally return for another visit.
Wonderful hotel and staff

The Renaissance in Edmonton Airport is a very comfortable and clean place to stay when transiting through YEG. Would definitely recommend. Thank you to the front desk staff, who are always very helpful and efficient, and especially to Mylene, whose kind and courteous way made me feel right at home.
Unrivaled Near YEG

My stay at the Renaissance was semi-unexpected as my flight out was delayed quite significantly so I decided to simply spend another night here instead of wasting a whole day waiting at the airport. I am really happy that I made this extra stop - this hotel is definitely of higher quality than most other airport hotels I’ve stayed. The hotel was connected with YEG’s departure level via a fancy pedway. The walkway and lobby were appointed with thoughtful design and artistic decors that I thought I was walking in a museum of sorts. Check-in was efficient and pleasant, the lady at the front desk was able to find me a huge suite which was a plus, as I really appreciated the extra space. In addition to the size, the suite itself also appeared very modern, with great design touches and ample lighting. The hotel also featured a lounge that was open but not staffed due to COVID. There were some packaged snack options on offer, though they weren’t replenished during my stay. Coffee machine was available and powered on, but was out of order and needed maintenance. Aside from the lounge, I also spent some time in the library - a must for a Renaissance stay IMO. It wasn’t anything impressive but definitely interesting enough. Breakfast was offered in the restaurant and quality was great, especially the steak and eggs option. Overall I was very pleased with my experience at the Renaissance. I’ve always been a fan of the brand, and considering the added convenience, if you are looking for somewhere to stay near YEG that isn’t boring, this is the place.
