Disgusting. Stay away.

Lobby smelled of smoke, stains on the bedding, lobby and entrance filthy. Fresh blood on the floor of the elevator, no hand sanitizer, staff not wearing masks, no plexiglass shields. Property owner didn't reply when we contacted them, no refund to date. We left immediately and got a room a the Comfort Inn across the street where it was clean, safe, COVID 19 protocols in place. Do not stay at Harbourside Inn, filthy and unsafe.

I have never felt anxiety from a building before. Stepping into the place gave me an anxiety attack. It smelled, the floors were warped and creaky and the heater was falling off the wall. Each section had a different smell from a bad smell to Marijuana.
Worst hotel experience

My spouse and I took a spontaneous trip to Campbell River and booked a short notice stay at this Inn. We arrive and nobody is at the front desk so we wait for a few minutes before the lady finally notices that we're there. We check in and receive our key card, head up to the room, and the key card didn't work so we needed to go back down and have that corrected. We get into the room and it's not the type of room I had booked (it had 2 queen sized beds as opposed to the king size that we had selected). The tv only had about 4 channels, unlike most places that provide at least basic cable or Shaw cable. We had asked a staff member for the WiFi password and he attempted a few times to rattle it off coherently but could barely get it out and the password that he finally decided was the right one obviously wasn't because we were unable to connect to their WiFi. The bathroom was dirty, the tub was stained and looked as though it hadn't been washed in years. Lastly, after coming back home, I've noticed a few bites on me that look like bed bug bites upon doing some research. We checked for bed bugs when we came in and didn't see anything, however, the appearance is very similar to what I've seen online which makes me nervous that I've brought them home with me. Please don't stay at this place. It's not worth it. There are about 20 other hotels/motels you can stay at in CR. We've stayed at several others and this is by far the worst.
Bed bugs and exposure toi racist rant in the lobby made this a very unsafe place to stay.

We endured bed bugs and exposure to a racist rant in the lobby. Not a healthy or safe place to stay. Worst thing is they refused to refund our second day even though we could not stomach staying. Choose another establishment.
Unfortuanately, bed bugs.

We were in a crunch needing last minute accomodations, this place had availability for the 4 of us plus our two dogs so we booked it. It was extremely cheap but cost wasent a factor at all when booking. We checked in the front desk girl was nice. The building was old and it wreaked of cigarette smoke on the lower floor, we felt we were heading through an apartment building not a hotel. We found the room acceptable, bathroom was small, outdated but worked. We woke up disgusted to discover our room in fact HAD BED BUGS. The sheets had little blood splats and upon further inspection we found the bodies of bugs so we googled to be sure and inspected the bites on our bodies. My husband left immediately to get garbage bags for our clothing and bags and we got our things together as quickly as we could. We informed the front desk of the situation and she seemed genuinely concerned and was going to call someone in to deal with it. There was no talk of room comp or anything, we were just given instructions on how to treat our belongings to prevent spread into our home. This really negatively impacted our visit in Campbell River as all we wanted to do was get home and get new clothes on, and some of us got bit worse than the others so it was uncomfortable. Not good experience at all. I 100% feel this place be fully turned into community housing after being fumigated, and the staff stay on as caretakers. I am giving this place 1 star, that is for the sunrise we had a wonderful view to while we were freaking out about being eaten alive in our sleep :(
