Blue Mountain Hotel & SPA

My entire family had a horrible experience in the first 24 hours: slow check-in, worst dinner experience ever (waited 70min for the food including kids meal; once the meal arrived, the food tastes horribly and was completely cold) and cold indoor swimming pool (to the extent the kids were freezing and had to leave immediately the pool). To make things worse, we asked for new towels in the room and it literally took 6 hours for the valet bring them (and after three calls to the reception). In summary, having stayed only 36 hours in the hotel, it is undeniably one of the worst services and hotel experiences I ever had anywhere.

We are currently in our room. The air conditioning is not working - it’s summer in Brazil right now. The hotel is EMPTY, save for two or three other couples, and they are refusing to move us to another room that has working A/C. If the hotel was busy, we would completely understand. A/C breaks down, it happens. The fact that they are unwilling to move us to one of dozens of empty rooms is unconscionable. This is a lovely area, I would highly recommend visiting – in another hotel.

Service staff is really good. Facilities are nice and the meals were great. All staff in hotel are really focused on service. Room was comfortable. Maybe one area to enhance is speed of internet however slow never dropped or failed.

The blue Mountain Hotel is really a hideaway. It is tucked away in a particularly nice area in fact I believe it is one of the hotels there that has the highest altitude. The staff were superb. My thanks to Matoso our waiter that made everything so special. The food was excellent. The rooms very comfortable. I really recommend it.

My wife and me have been at this hotel in Aug 25. We were staying on another close hotel and we considered to move to this hotel, so we got the car and drove to their location to visit their installations. What a surprise we had once we arrived, when the security staff just blocked our entrance at their front gate, saying the "hotel was closed for a law judges convention". I still insisted to talk with the front desk but I was not allowed to reach them. Later on that day, I called the front desk and reported what happened and my second surprise came with their reply, same as before. It's interesting to notice that these judges stayed on this hotel maybe a few days per year, but the regular guests (like me) came along all the year. These judges are not gods and the hotel cannot be closed for them as the Olympus for the gods. I expected a better perception of this hotel, but as we could see, their experience in handling guest satisfaction is just terrible, it basically depends of who arrived before you. Don't expect any attention from them if the hotel is full, because what really matter for them are the numbers, not the guests or guest satisfaction in particular. Good thing is there are several other hotels in the city that have an astonishing service for the same price. Unfortunately, although it has one of the better locations at the city, this hotel does not deserve my preference anymore.
