Disgusting dirty hotel

Reviewed 4 may, 2022

Disgusting, dirty and 3rd graded hotel!! This hotel has rated themselves as a comfort and 4 star hotel but their online reviews and pics don't match the reality at all. They are a dirty, substandard and disgusting hotel. When I checked in all rooms were smelling of intense smoke- the non smoking ones as well! The bell boy was trying to influence the decision of the receptionist by saying there was no smoke smell. When I insisted and fought, they changed the room but even the non smoking rooms smelt of smoke. Once I checked in I was surprised to see the interiors were 3rd graded and below standard and were equivalent to a budget hotel. The walls had paint and stickers peeling off. The furniture had burn mark stains from cigarettes. There were some random stains on the walls. The air condition was a split unit and there was a big structure in the room making it ugly. Room setup too was congested and not well planned and spacious. Luckily I have only one night here and unfortunately this was prepaid through my tour agent (roadrunners) and hence I could do nothing about it. But had it been my own booking I would definitely cancel it and switch to another decent and class hotel. And to add to all the misery I just discovered the air conditioning isn't working. I opened the Google reviews and found that many people have complained about this in the past so it's not something they can post an excuse about. They know that their ac doesn't work. When I called the reception to inform about this she told me to open the windows...seriously!!!!!!! Is this your customer service. I will further write about this to a Consumer rights authority in Turkey or some authority where this review is taken into Consideration and they will be penalised for this.

Great location

Reviewed 27 october, 2019

We came here for one night as part of a coach tour. The location is great but the hotel is in need of some love and investment. Our room was great but some areas of the hotel appeared unfinished or abandoned. The food was adequate but uninspiring. It was a perfectly fine stop for one night, but no more.

Location is the best part

Reviewed 1 october, 2019

This is a pretty basic hotel. It is quite old and tired. There is a service lift on the left from the foyer which can help avoid queues for the main (small) lift. This is a hotel that seems to service big tour groups. When they arrive they block the reception area which is small and only serviced by 2 or 3 people. The restaurant is large, but the food is not great and the staff are not helpful and look like they'd rather not be there. The best part of this hotel is the location - it is right across the road from the seaside promenade area which is a lovely place to walk. I suggest not booking meals here. There are lots of restaurants around that you can probably get better food from.

Nice Hotel facing the Creek

Reviewed 4 september, 2019

We had been there for food. Good food and a quick good experience. It is a nice location facing the Creek and the ferrywharf. Right on the main road. Within few minutes walk you can see the Wooden Horse which was gifted by Warner Brothers to the City of Cakakkale. The Horse was used in the movie TROY. Ruins of Trop is very nearby, within 30 mins drive from this place. One can catch ferry for Istanbul from the Jetty nearby.

Base for Gallipoli, and for Troy

Reviewed 21 august, 2019

We stayed here just two nights, as we wanted to make a thorough job of Gallipoli and also spend an afternoon at Troy. The hotel is very close to the water, and from our third-floor room and our little balcony we had an excellent view across the strait; we could sit out in the evening people-watching and boat-watching. It was too hot and too bright earlier in the day! The reception staff were very obliging and helpful; the one thing they couldn't organise for us was a hire car. That was a blessing in disguise, as the driver we had to resort to instead did a superb job of guiding us around everything we wanted to see. He'd been doing the job for over twenty years! We didn't eat dinner or lunch at the hotel; their buffet breakfasts were nothing special, but perfectly adequate. The table-clearing staff swooped to remove dishes and cutlery immediately, which was a little disconcerting; at one stage I served myself the same cup of tea three times. The room was spacious and clean; the bed was comfortable. We had quiet at night, despite the crowds down below. Although the hotel is listed as having a pool, we were advised that there wasn't one. Actually, there is, but it was closed while we were there, presumably for maintenance or repair. Easy walking distance to the ferries, and to a good selection of cafes, bars, shops and restaurants. There is an interactive museum close by as well.
