Erick was our bartender

Reviewed 20 january, 2022

Erick was the best bartender I could have asked for on a vacation. Always surprising with delicious drinks even when you don’t ask him and he’s always there to help with anything you need! Was really easy to talk to and a language barrier didn’t stop him from having a conversation over google translate. Always gave the best recommendations and was truly incredible!

Beyond Disappointed visited MLK weekend 2022

Let’s start with check-in. No one offered to hold our luggage because our room wasn’t ready because eventho we booked 2 queen beds the room they gave was 1 king so had to wait until they found another room. So disappointed the room was dated, view of tennis courts with loud hvac that was horribly loud 24-7 and freezing and the maintenance worker could not figure out how to fix it but we said ok we will just stay out the room anyway as we came to enjoy the resort. Well the lack of activities was apparent! Went to the cafe by the beach and the drinks were watered down, the service was super slow, the fries were cold and the microwave Tyson wings were subpar at best! We decided to try all the restaurants and realized that eventho it was an all inclusive resort we would have to leave to get edible food! Avoid the steakhouse at all cost or you will definitely regret your decision! Don’t know how they mess up steaks but the poor quality and terrible wine and horrible service! The hibachi was a 4 out of 10 because the cook was entertaining but still very low quality food! The entertainment each night was the best part of the resort but get there early because it’s very very small! The only edible food was the breakfast buffet but the service was horrible! We just resorted to going up to the bar to get our own drinks because we were invisible a guess because tables sat after us were served before us! The first night we were awakened at 1am with a faulty fire alarm went off and scared everyone on our floor! While we were in the hallway waiting for maintenance we realized we didn’t get robes just slippers! I went to the front desk in the morning to ask for a different room that wasn’t freezing and didn’t have fire alarm issues and was told I could move to room 209 which was the room right next to the covid testing room. No thanks! So we tried staying out all day in Cancun because coming back was not a good idea! On our last night we were awakened at 2am with a lady screaming help and she was in an apparent fight! Needless to say avid sandos at all cost! I didn’t even go into detail about how prejudiced the hotel is! I tried giving tips on the first day hoping for better service but it doesn’t matter if you are the wrong color you are treated substandard from the front desk, to the concierge to the wait staff! The only place they welcomed us was at the show because they wanted us to twerk and be part of the entertainment! No thanks! In summary: 1. Horrible, dated room with loud and non operating hvac 2. Avoid all the restaurants except breakfast buffet or you will regret it! Just know you will have to go off the resort for edible food and drinks! 3. Just know that they are very prejudice and if you are not the right color you will be ignored periodt! 4. I didn’t say anything about the pool but it’s 3 and they are actually beautiful but they were empty because it’s was cool/windy weather and they are not heated! Even the jacuzzi isn’t heated! 5. The beach was nice ounce you make it down there but please please be careful because there is a huge drop from the steps to the sand and it’s not safe. They should have added at least 2 more steps! 6. Just avoid sandos and don’t get it confused with sandals resort because there is no and I mean no similarities! I have been to Cancun and playa several times and this resort is the winner for being the absolute worst all inclusive which is a joke resort can’t even call it that, hotel I’ve ever been to! Sandos you need to close up and redo everything from the interior, the food and definitely the workers! Sandos you need to do better! -10 out of 10 or double zero

A must stay!

My best friend and I needed a relaxing holiday away after a very stressful year. We arrived at Sandos in the evening and were quickly assigned a room. In the morning we requested a room change for a better view and they immediately accommodated us. From the delicious food to the stellar customer service by all of the staff we will definitely be returning next year. All covid protocols were strictly followed by the staff. Note: showers were a bit cold and wifi is best in the lobby other than that we would not have changed a thing! Thank you Sandos for a memorable and safe holiday!!!

New Year Break

Reviewed 19 january, 2022

Arrived New Years Eve at 6pm. Special dinner put on for guest who needed to book prior to 5pm. All 3 other restaurants closed, reception appeared confused. Finally established that Room Service was the only option and when that arrived it was warm at best. Couldn’t connect to Wifi despite the instructions and needed reception to get it done, and by the look of the queue, this was a regular issue. Room was basic but comfortable with AirCon and a large bathroom. Partial Sea View was just that as the room was at the side of the hotel, and in shadow all day. Other than the challenging check in and first night, everything got better after that. The 3 restaurants were decent, 2 required bookings even if you’re fully inclusive but the food was tasty and seats available, service good. Hotel was clean inside and out and the pool areas and sun beds and loungers were comfortable. The outdoor restaurant by the pool (reserved for breakfast for Elite Members only) served a tasty lunch and cocktails available all day. Drinks Service to the beds by the pool was excellent. Direct access to the beach, beds on the beach itself and the surf was great. Gym and Spa available, Gym free, Spa at a cost but the Sports and Deep Tissue Massages are well worth it, very comfortable and great service. Able to use the Spa for a shower after checking out on the last day with time to spend on the beach before the coach to the airport. Overall a nice hotel, decent variety of food and drinks, 20 mins walk to several shopping Malls, direct access to a lovely beach. Good customer service.

Stayed a week here. Hotel is in the perfect location for if you just want to relax on the beach, or party in the hotel zone. Food is really good. Staff are excellent especially karla at the buffet very helpful and easy to interact with
