Warning - stay anywhere BUT the Seadust

WARNING: stay anywhere else...
Apologies in advance for how long this is, but these are things I WISH I had known to prevent me from booking this hotel.
This hotel will make every attempt to extort additional money from you even after you've paid in full for your stay. This is definitely NOT a 3 star hotel. Hot as hell in the lobby, halls, elevators, and all common/public spaces. No AC or fans or misters - NOTHING. Rooms are more like those in a 2.5 star hotel. Very plain and basic with no sofa; only 2 chairs and a Cafe table in a "family suite". Not a suite at all... Just a regular room. Balcony is so much smaller than any Pic on their website, and the patio furniture is NOT what they show... Just 2 plastic chairs and a small table - again, for a family. Only 2 electrical outlets in the room.
We extended our stay for 3 nights. We thought about moving to a better hotel but it was just easier to stay here... Or so we thought! We had repeated problems with the 2nd reservation. The front desk clerks kept telling us that we had only made a reservation for 2 adults, and no kids. I showed them the reservation confirmation over and over again, but they were not able to comprehend. They kept locking us out of our room. After enduring an entire day and a half of harassment from the hotel, the manager on duty, Joel Niebca, finally extorted an additional $240 from me. I was sitting in a hotel hallway for an hour, hot as hell and dripping sweat, with my entire family, just trying to get into the room for which we'd already paid. I caved...figured I'd deal with my credit card company once I got home, to take care of the extortion fees. And, I knew I was in Mexico and had no rights or protection... At their mercy and not sure the "manager" wouldn't call the police if I didn't pay the extortion money. Well, at least we had the full Mexican experience... Extorted and held hostage. Talking with other guests, I discovered this is rather common at the Seadust. Once you're here, if they lock you out of your room, you're at their mercy. I heard so many different lies they told to other guests, to "explain" their additional fees. This hotel should be shut down. I'll certainly report them to the Mexican authorities... For what good it will do.
Their website says gratuities are included but several of their staff made it clear that they expected tips.
"All inclusive" is misleading. Restaurants have very limited hours, some are open only to timeshare members at times when they are supposedly open, and most require reservations. Other than the buffet there were many times when we had no dining options. Several restaurants are only open at 8pm or later for dinner. We found it very difficult to get to the restaurants, especially on days when we had excursions away from the hotel.
Buffet was just OK... Nothing special 1st night. However, Friday lunch was a different story. Buffet was nice, with large variety of fresh food.
Hard time finding bottled water. We had to keep buying water at the drugstore. The hotel would not provide this.
Housekeeping kept coming into the room without knocking, even with the deadbolt Locked. This got to be so annoying I stopped tipping them.
Generally, the room needs updating, particularly in the bathrooms. Workmanship on what is obviously patching/fixing of walls, etc. is shoddy. Looks like untrained construction people built this place.
Maintenance - toilet not flushing property. Took them about an hour to respond, 3 times.
Night entertainment in lobby - loud and echoed through hotel until almost 11pm. Mornings some sort of wailing "music" echoed through the hotel starting at 6:30am every morning.
They advertise "live shows" buy there was only one 45 min show on Friday. Nothing else. Theater was closed.
"Casino” is rarely open. Usually 10pm - 2am but the dealer didn't show up until almost 11pm. This is not really a casino. They play "for fun and not money"! And they have junky, torn up tables. Not at all worth visiting.
They advertise non motor water sports are included, with a free shuttle to and from the port. NOT the case at all. There was no shuttle. We had to take a taxi, at our expense, to and from the water sports (paddle boarding and kayaking).
Room service was apparently food from the buffet. 1st time breakfast arrived almost 1/2 hr late, barely warm, and the delivery guy kept hinting for a tip. 2nd time dinner was faster but food was served uncovered - no cloche over the plates. Again, attendant hinted for a tip.
Spa - no AC in many common areas. Lovely massage with a mini facial included, which was a nice surprise.
