A disasterous stay.
The hotel facilities were excellent. The room was clean and bright and the bed was very comfortable as usual in an Ibis hotel. The major disappointment was that other guests, notably an Australian party of a group of teenage boys, were also staying in the hotel and occupied most of the rooms with some adults as their carers. On the evening of our stay, having driven 8 hours from the south of Spain we were eager to get some sleep. This was impossible due to the antics of some of the boys, who seemed intoxicated. Loud shouting, swearing, doors banging and running along corridors carried on until 2.30am, with no intervention from staff or carers. The next morning we discovered that overnight the lift had become unusable and was awaiting repair. This did not help us as our room was on the 4th floor and we had suitcases to transport. It would be easy to say that the events were not caused by the hotel staff, however, as long time customers of Ibis hotels we expect to have a night's undisturbed sleep. No one from the hotel made any attempt to elevate the problem. To be asked next morning if we enjoyed our stay added insult to injury. Not a place I wish to visit again and an experience that has shattered my trust in the Ibis brand.
Modern, stylish out-of-town location.
This was another of the colourful and modern Ibis Styles hotels, with a nice, comfortable, clean room. There was a swimming pool, good parking facilities, and a very good breakfast. Given it’s location, it is probably aimed more at the French family holiday than at foreign travellers. The staff seemed less proficient at languages other than French, than with other Ibis hotels we have used. We all coped however, with a certain amount of good will on both sides! We chose it because we wanted to visit Perpignan, and it is a 20 minute bus trip from the city. However, that being said, the bus leaves from just across the road, and returns to right by the gate, and it costs peanuts, so this is quite easy. It certainly offers good value for money.
Canet Plage
The hotel rooms are basic but the service is very good, location also good as it is within walking distance of the beach and promenade and its fine selection of restaurants and tourist shops and bars, we had wonderful weather:)
Comfortable hotel/Good value
Nice hotel with a good breakfast in the morning. The value for the rate is excellent. My only complaint is that the staff are not very welcoming and certainly don't make you feel at home. Granted, I don't speak French, and some of the staff don't speak good English, but they seem very put out by it.
Short Beach Visit
The loaction was good - very easy to find after coming off the main road, with a large supermarket nearby for buying any essentials, and plenty of parking...it is a bit of a walk to the beach, but it is a fabulous beach and promenade!
