This hotel is a SCAM!!! Stay away
I booked accommodation at the Happy Rhino Hotel, in Loop Street, Cape Town for the 14-16 March. Confirmation no 3697575664, through Booking. com When we arrived there, the entry way was very shady looking with paint peeling off and Cornish of celling broken. We were allocated room 221 and informed that the card system is offline so one of the front desk guys will have to open for us when we need to enter the room. We were escorted by one of the front desk helpers to the room in a lift that is falling apart and a real safely Hazzard. When we got to the second floor where our room was, we noticed rising damp the walls right down the corridor. Everything at this place is falling apart. The room we were located was falsely advertised and is not anything like the pictures online. Our room had water leaking in it, toilet had urine dried on the seat. Shower smelled like mould. Bedding was stained. Mirror was broken in the room. We went back to the front desks and informed them about our dissatisfaction and asked for a refund which they refused. I was told to contact the accounts department in Durban on 031 3504911 to see if I can get my money refunded but was told by the front desk clerk that I won't get it back. I contacted the number I was given and when I called someone would pick up the phone and cut the line. After a few attempts someone answered the phone and told me that the accounts departments telephone lines are off because of loadshedding, even though eskom announced no loadshedding today. I was then given another number to call 0214238778, where I experienced the same thing. This place is not health safe or fire safety. More so I feel that I was cheated and demand my money be refunded. Asa consumer I have the right to receive quality goods a services for money I paid and I Did not receive this. I do not know what kind of scam this is but I demand that this matter will be resolved.
HORRIBLE THIS PLACE IS SCAM
The pictures are lying it’s incredibly bad experience i never had in my life We changed the hotel because we couldn’t spend even one hour there The staff can’t help, we sent email to the manager but no answer The place is horrible smell bad and very very small bedrooms The lightening is very dark
Beautiful
we had a stunning private room here which was amazing. Its missing Air Con or Fans and hairdryers and when its 40c out side you need these things or curtains. Other than that it perfect for getting around it away from the main Nosie on the streets but I would suggest Ubers every as they are so cheap and it DEFO safer a night. I would stay again when they have got the little bits you need like Air Con/Fans/Curtins but the studio was stunning and so handy to have washing machine. POWER LOAD CUT OFF EVERY DAY at this end of town
Uhm .. no!
There was no communication from the hotel. There was no info about reconstruction on their website. To me it should be a lowcost b&b and not a hotel. Walls are paper think, very small and bathroom even smaller (and i am small, but i minded it)
