Spent Three Delightful Nights...
Reviewed 2 October, 2021
Friends of ours, Lucy W. and her husband, recommended the "Inn" for us to consider while traveling this past week along California's Central Coast. We spent 3-delightful nights at the Inn at Depot Hill...where each room is decorated to reflect different destination themes from when the Inn was, during a prior life, Capitola's railroad depot. Sugar (pronounced SAW-ger) is the perfect host/manager and represented the Inn to perfection...including recommending and making dinner reservations for us which, in one instance, included complimentary restaurant-arranged transportation in a fully restored Checker Cab. Our room, the Railroad Baron, was exceptionally quiet, roomy with two separate closets, a gas fireplace at the foot of the bed, a comfortable sitting area to take breakfast (which arrived at least exactly on time) and to sip after-dinner drinks, as well as a huge bathroom complete with a large tub, a large separate shower, and a small balcony that overlooks the Inn's secluded courtyard. Five-stars to Sugar, as well as, the morning staff, the Inn's condition, cleanliness, quiet location and walking proximately to Capitola's dining. We will be back!!!

All of the rooms are unique. As we wanted a King bed there were just two rooms, one was the Costa Brava and we loved it with it's own deck and balcony. We also moved to the Paris room and found it cozy with a fire place.
We thought the Manager Sager was very helpful, friendly and easy going. He gave us great dinner recommendations.
Beautiful getaway w my fiancée

I stayed here part of Labor Day weekend w my fiancé in the Kyoto room. It was beautiful and relaxing w it’s own nearby parking space. The private zen garden and two person tub w rainfall shower were really nice additions to the room. We also really enjoyed the garden and breakfast in the room provided the next morning. Sayger (sorry if this is spelled wrong) gave us a wonderful tour of w building and provided great service. It is a very beautiful property. Love that it’s adults only two. That really added to the relaxed and calm atmosphere in a seaside town.
Excellent stay at charming inn

Charming rooms, wonderful service, near downtown Capitola and walk along old railroad tracks. Nice patio were you can reserve to have breakfast. Breakfast was very good (pancakes one day, Eggs Benedict the 2nd day) . Stayed in the lovely Library room. You can hear traffic if windows are open but it does die down after 9 pm. Friends stayed in the Valencia room which has a nice sitting and dining area. Shower is in the deep whirlpool tub which can be inconvenient for some.
Thoroughly enjoyable stay

We stayed two nights at the Inn at Depot Hill and had a great time. We were greeted by the manager, Sagar who is super friendly and helpful. We booked the Cote D'Azur room and really enjoyed the interesting decor, the thick fluffy towels, the very comfortable bed and the fireplace. We never got around to using the hot tub but it was available. Breakfast is cooked to order and just the right amount. We loved the olde Worlde look and feel of this converted Train depot, it's neat to have breakfast where 80 years ago Railway staff handed out tickets to passengers. A short walk takes you to the beach, or, in the other direction, Peets Coffee, and a really nice bakery etc. We will be visiting again.
