Safe - Relaxing - Beautiful
Our stay was for two nights for 6 families in standard rooms and two-bedroom suites. We were happy with our rooms as they were recently updated. However the friendliness and helpfulness for the staff is what stood out. We would definitely come back
Good hotel but the bed was hard
Spent two days at the Cassara with the goal of just relaxing. It was very obvious that the staff was continually cleaning the hotel. I was very pleased with the level of cleanliness of my room. I always do a second wipe down of surfaces and I did not pick up any dirt or dust. I can say that the pictures provided of the inside were accurate. Unfortunately there was a down side. Had a partial coastal view with a view of the flower fields. The flower fields were not in bloom and the view was of a Costco. Also, the bed was very uncomfortable and I didn't get much sleep. It was disappointing. If the bed was comfortable I probably would have rated it a five even with the disappointing view.
Beautiful Resort. Friendly Staff.
We stayed at the Cassara for two nights. We chose a partial oceanview room. Loved the balcony. The grounds were stunning. I can't even imagine how beautiful the view would be when the flower fields are in bloom. The stqff was very friendly. We felt safe during the Covid pandemic. We have a couple items missing from our room (coffee and bathroom toiletries) but the items were delivered promptly to our room. I appreciated the quick response! Our room was clean and I loved the style and decor of the room. We didn't experience any dining on our trip. We enjoyed the pool - the staff working the pool area was very kind. Parking was complimentary in the ramp and the ramp was clean and felt safe. The no-contact check-in worked like a charm. I'd stay here again! It is a beautiful hotel.
NOT a Clean Stay experience
The quality of my recent stay at the Cassara Carlsbad was completely unacceptable and Hilton did not maintain their promise about COVID-19 precautions. I had checked into the Cassara prior to arrival, however, the Hilton Honors app stated Digital Key function was down. I was extremely disappointed as our intention was to maintain COVID-19 precautions (as their brand promotes) and be able to utilize contactless check-in. In the end, I still had to request keys from the front desk. When I looked back at my app, the entire reservation was removed from my account. It made me question whether the front desk changed the room I originally checked into. When I arrived at the room, the "Clean Stay" sticker was completely ripped off and it was obvious that someone had already entered after the room had been cleaned. There were no toiletries, except for one bar of soap by the sink. I called the front desk for extra towels and no one ever arrived even as we checked out. This made me seriously doubt the integrity of Hilton's "Clean Stay" promise and Hilton Honors quality of service. I was hoping to have a small weekend getaway with my family and still comply with CDC guidelines. Yet due to this experience, I am apprehensive about rebooking another hotel through Hilton due to poor customer care and lack of diligence in making our stay feel sanitary. This was NOT the Hilton experience I was used to.
Concerning Stay
The property is stunning and has a lot of potential.. but man does this place need help. We came for a weekend getaway during COVID. No social distancing measures were in place. The pool was packed, to the point that guests were camped out on the cement and you had to wiggle through them to get by. Eventually the pool was shut down, not due to capacity, but because a guest vomited in the completely full pool. Not once did we see housekeeping staff wear masks during our stay. We even saw them going in and out of guest rooms maskless (masks are a state law). The irony was the stickers being put on the rooms after they cleaned them with the “Hilton Promise”. When I alerted management about this they did not seem at all concerned... which was even more concerning. The hotel also completely lacked basic amenities (shampoo, conditioner, breakfast etc.). We will not be back.
