More about the hotel
Over booked!
We live in SD county and came for a fun family staycation. Before I booked I called and asked specifically if the pool wa so pen and what the situation was. The front desk told me the pool was open at 50% and we would have no problem getting in. Our children were so excited! We arrived 3 hours before check in hoping to Jump in the pool before our room was ready. They told us there was a waiting list for the pool, I am mediately walked over and put our families name on. Before we even went in the room I asked the man running the list if we would get in to the pool that day. He assured me we would. After sitting in the room for 4 hours, spending $200 on dinner, and trying to entertain our children in the heat, we left with a refund and lots of disappointment! No pool action. This is advertised as a family friendly hotel, they have to realize with so many other things in the area closed due to pandemic all the family should be in the pool, they should not be taking so many reservations without the space to entertain them! At 6 PM they were still 10 families ahead of us waiting for the pool. I know we are not the only disappointed family there tonight!
Close
We wanted beaches and mountains and away from the city. It is halfway to Orange County and near Legoland. Belen and Angelica gave us the lay of the land and how to navigate the terrain. The rooms were stunning with patio. Lovely pool and packed fitness center. This is truly a hidden jem.
A very good stay for LEGOland trip
It was just an one day stay with LEGOland visit. We didn’t anticipate how we would end up falling in love with this hotel. The classy and modern decorations throughout the hotel from the lobby to the room we stayed at were definitively pleasing. The hotel has a very nice heated pool, a big jacuzzi, and a big gym that are open 24 hours. We love the fact that we can send text messages for accommodations to set up the room prior and during our stay for any service and requests. Having stayed at the LEGOland hotels onsite before, we love the quietness at night and appreciate the peacefulness we enjoyed during our stay. The stroll to the back entrance of the Legoland is about 5 to 10 minutes walk with clear signs of direction. The only downside is that we wish that there could be more choices of restaurants even though we still liked the food offered in TWENTY, the only restaurant in the hotel.
Outdoor pool table
My spouse and I were here on our way back from a wine tasting in Temecula Valley, about less than an hour from this hotel. It's a mini-getaway for the long weekend. I'm a big fan of Westin's bed, and their beautiful robe; and this hotel hooked us up with a large, ocean view room on the 3rd floor. The gym was clean, the courtyard is large enough with a great hillside view, along with pool, spa, and games galore including an outside pool table which basically made my weekend. The room itself is newly renovated, there was a free water bottle, and there's a lanai if you care for some fresh air, albeit tight. My only con for this hotel was the tattered towel. I think that they should just chuck it and replace it. It just cheapens the room. The lobby is chic, spacious, and the decor is just perfect. Parking is $24 valet or self. We ate breakfast at the main dining room, and the food is reasonable and really good. The bar area is lively at night, but not too crowded. There's also a Starbucks window in the property. The direction to the place is a bit confusing, but the property is overall nice. It also is next door to the Legoland, and you can actually see some of the attractions. Great hotel, will come back again.
Not up to Westin Standards
I am surprised this place is a Westin. We are loyal Marriott Titanium members and were so disappointed with the amenities offered a this hotel. No hot breakfast and no upgrades. I can tell the rooms have been recently renovated to look more modern with the wooden flooring but they missed the bathrooms, with the bath having super low water pressure and the bathtub like a four points. Not a Westin quality hotel. I’m surprised - and disappointed.
