Villa La Malva

My husband and myself stayed here for 5 nights before heading to see more of the north of Italy. It’s not the type of hotel we would normally stay in as we normally like to have a lot going on and usually stay in cities, however this was a lovely break from reality. The owners are very friendly, the lady in particular was lovely- nothing was too much trouble and she just wanted to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. We had breakfast a few mornings there which was lovely, once we ate on the terrace overlooking the beautiful countryside and the other mornings we took coffee, orange juice and pastries to our room. It was €6 for a buffet breakfast or €4 just for a drink and pastry so very reasonable indeed considering the quality! Our room was also beautiful (number 12) with a lovely, comfy bed, big wardrobe, lovely bathroom and a huge terrace overlooking the hills which was delightful. The bath was wonderful however I was a little surprised that the shower was not hung on the wall so we couldn’t have a proper shower, but not a problem. We had dinner in the restaurant 2 evenings and that was truly delicious, however it does seem to be busy on the weekends- the same with the pool. It is a beautiful pool area with lovely sun loungers but was busier on the Saturday we were there, nicer in the week. We were very glad we had a car whilst staying here and enjoyed driving to the surrounding villages and cities, I think we would have struggled without a car as it is so remote. Overall a very pleasant stay, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and would love to come back and stay again in the future.

I stayed here on my own as I was attending a wedding nearby. I found the rooms rto be spacious, decorated in a rustic tuscan style. The ensuite bathroom was impeccably clean, as was my room. I had a fantastic view directly overlooking the valley and down onto the pool. The pool was never busy but there were a few people. Gabrielle and christina were very welcoming and couldnt do enough to help me, eg printing off my boarding passes, arranging taxis and a superb breakfast every morning from the rooftop restaurant. Evening meal was downstairs by the pool which was also excellent. Only slight downside was that I did not have a hire car which meant i was reliant on taxis. Every taxi journey regardless of distance (2km or 6km) was 20 euros. However this is due to there being just one taxi in the area. If booked in advance he was reliable and charming. Overall a fabulous stay and i would not hesitate to recommend to couples or individuals looking for a calm, quiet stay.

A wonderful place, where you can relax by the very big swimmingpool. A beautiful, shady area under the arches by the swimmingpool. We had an excelent dinner, t-bone steak on the grill. An accurate attenction by the staff, specially the owner and his young son. Extremly clean hotel/swimmingpool. The rooms were really spacious and sunny.

We stayed in this place for 3 nights and had a good time, the attention is very good and the place has very beautiful views the weather is very nice and you breathe a fresh air, the difficulty is the access road if you are not accustomed to Handle on curves and slopes, the locations have what is necessary both inside and outside the rooms to spend moments of relaxation.

We spent our honeymoon last August in Italy and visited Florence, Pisa and Signa. The best experience was the latter. Beautiful surroundings in a very traditional area and our stay in villa la malva was such a lovely welcoming change from the heavy touristy busy areas. Gabriella and his wife Christina couldn't do more to make the stay better. They gave use advice of where to explore and gave us lifts when they found us wandering lost and when we needed to travel home. The view was stunning from our balcony and the home cooked meals from Gabriellas mother were to die for. We were made a t bone steak and had it prepared at our table that had been delivered freshly that day by a local butcher. They have their own vineyard and offer white, red and sparkling rose as their house wine at a very reasonable price also giving the feeling of an intimate feeling of welcome into their family. We hope to book again soon and take our children over so they can enjoy the safe, relaxed and friendly experience that we did. We even made friends with their golden lab as we missed ours while we were away.
