Mint condition hotel and courteous service
Everything was perfect for a short, convenient stay. Decent sized room and bathroom. comfortable bed. Pretty courteous service for check in , check out and breakfast. They have replaced the buffet with a made-to-order breakfast tray service, which I think is the best you can do during COVID, so can't fault them for that. The secured parking is so convenient though might seem a bit expensive to some (all parking in Swiss cities is!) We had a nice view of greenery. only small thing: guests not wearing a mask were not reminded to.
COLD COLD COLD
I don't know what's the reason but the heating system just didn't work. It was just cold cold cold cold. So the sent me a technician and he came to the conclusion that the system didn't work. Though they changed me to another room the problem did not get solved. It's a nice hotel, great staff but that doesn't make it a warm place...
Fun and Friendly
Great hotel in Carouge with a good European breakfast every morning . Rooms are a nice size but have no closets just a clothes rack . No iron or ironing board in the room and no room service as the people who deliver are covering the front desk . The front door people are all Very helpful. You must settle your tab each night or they will shut off the key access to your room which seems severe to me but is not a big deal if you know it . Bed is very firm but the pillows as I have found in most places in Europe are terrible . You need at least 3 to have any support . Bar is fun and the theme with the cartoons is entertaining but it is quiet and a great place for breakfast meetings . Bar staff are all very helpful with great attitudes. Food is limited (charcuterie, pasta , salads ) but is good . I was in 3 different rooms and they are all essentially the same except for some rooms having tubs vs standing showers . Bathrooms are very good and modern with good space for your stuff . The staff top to bottom was really exceptional.
Bad Experience
I booked to stay at this place for nights through booking.com because of the good reviews and the "cancel for free" up until a few days before the visit option. A week before we were to go to the Hotel they withdrew an amount from my account that was more than the agreed price for the rooms (AUD$490 booking was for AUD$360). I contacted the Hotel through booking.com to ask why they had withdrawn the money before the free cancellation period and why for so much. The answer I got was that they had put a "holding" on the money and the reason they took extra was in case I had a drink or dinner at the Hotel when I visited. I told them that it would have been common practice to advise me if they were doing this and that the agreement was for $360 only. I then cancelled my booking because I felt that I really didn't feel comfortable with this Hotel having my credit card details and charging whatever they wanted even before I turned up. I am now still waiting for the money to come back into my account. They have argued that it is only a holding amount and that it didn't actually come out of my account however the amount is not showing in my balance and as far as I can see it was withdrawn. No one from the Hotel tried to call and fix this all I have gotten from them is one sentence messages via booking.com that they have stopped the holding of my money. Really bad customer service and a really bad experience just before my holiday.
Great Hotel!!!
We were traveling with a child and really enjoyed this hotel. The design is amazing, the breakfast is luxurious, the service excellent. Great location. Highly recommend! We received a response to every question with a lot of patience and a smile. There is thinking about the details, including colors for kids and a play area. Fun to be in such a place!
