More about the hotel
Average
The hostel at first glance was perfect, we had a double with AC & a fan (no AC during the day???) and a tiny private bathroom. The location is brilliant & staff were friendly they got us a taxi to the airport in the morning which was super helpful. The place was relatively clean but our bed sheets had black marks on them & were torn which wasn’t ideal. Nothing was cleaned or changed (bed/towels/bin) the whole time we were there so by our 4th night the place was not so clean. I would still recommend this hostel but maybe not for any longer than 1/2 nights. We had breakfast included in our price & it was nice.
Too cold
We talked it's too cold We can't change the power of climatisation. They said it's like that. They didn't change of room, didn't give blanket or work on climatisation. Now my wife is sick. There is music too loud during all the day and the personnel and the boss speak loud too during the night and early in the morning. Enjoy
Pesima atencion
Disgusting service and terrible guest attention. The receptionnist (a long haired half Hypster called Dario) was totally rude and useless. We booked a tour that was supposed to pick us up and he never advised us that they had arrived, we almost missed it. We left something at the frontdesk to a friend, and Dario that did not seem to care, did not deliver it to him. Anyway it is fascinating that people like this end up working in a hostal (or any place of a kind). Fortunately Cartagena is amazing!
Average budget option
It's a good last resort if you really need something in the Getsemani area. I had a small and basic room, which is typical for Getsemani, but everything worked. The front desk was very friendly and helpful and if you speak a bit of Spanish, it will be greatly appreciated. I also enjoyed playing with the cute cats, and the long, rambling hallways. On the bad side, you find a lot of loud, dirty backpackers crowding the kitchen areas here, you know, the Instagram type...? ;)
Pretty much a party hostel
This is a party hostel even if it isn’t advertised as such. It’s not only in a loud, busy street, the hotel itself seems to never go to bed. There was loud music playing in the common areas until at least midnight both nights we were there. That didn’t bother us too much but definitely something to be aware of. The air conditioning in our room was very loud and pretty rubbish so we gave up on it and just had hot nights. The staff only spoke Spanish. We managed to get by with our basic language skills but this may be a problem if you don’t know any.
