Great off the beaten track location
I didn't know much of the area when I booked this accommodation, but fell in love instantly. The views were spectacular from our room, breakfast open area and guest terrace. The guest terrace is decked out with many chairs, sofas, books, board games which is a great place to hang out. Our room was brand new and was well appointed. We explored the Orosi valley the next morning and found to be charming.
Lovely view, lovely people
This quaint, environmentally conscious b and b has gorgeous views of the beautiful Orosi valley. The family who own and operate it are kind, welcoming hosts. We chose the unit furthest from the road - very comfortable bed, clean, beautiful view. Thank you Carolina, mom and staff.
Fantastic views, super friendly staff
Cozy room with private bath and kitchenette (we did not use it). Fantastic views from the terrace, which is used for breakfast. Three options for breakfast. Super nice staff! Nice pool (heated with solar energy, decently warm). Some noise from lorries on the road passing by.
Rinconcito Verde Stay
Rinconcito Verde is a quaint, little bed and breakfast between Ujarras and Paraiso. The owner is great as are the people working here. We stayed a few nights in this location. A few things to note (please read): - The location has a lot of road noise, as it is situated on the main road. - The office is not operational 24 hours; therefore, if you need something, ask as soon as you see a person (towels appear to be in short supply) - There are dogs on the property (typical for the area). They all appear friendly, but good to note if allergic - The beds are not high quality; recommend a lot of stretching before and after sleeping - The water pressure is very low; for women, washing your hair is next to impossible. Water also seems to be absent in the mornings...bring your own bottled water to wash hands and brush teeth just in case - The location is significantly colder in temperature than surrounding cities - There is no heat or AC in the rooms - The location is difficult to get to and from without a car. If you are planning any activities in the region, my suggestion is to rent a car as Uber is hit and miss - the rooms have a kitchenette; good to note as you may need to use. There are not many restaurants within walking proximity - walking to / from other locations can be difficult/dangerous, as the main street is busy - there are no closets or storage in the rooms Also to note: - when you drive into the property (after the gate), you may be surprised as the property does not appear to be maintained - overall, if you are looking for a nice property with amenities and a quiet stay, this may not be for you - as mentioned earlier, a car is very important at this location - the dining area where breakfast is served has a great view
Disappointing - mostly due to hired staff (no longer run excelusively by owners°
I read all the reviews so I expected friendly and competent staff. Owners are but now the place is served by a receptionist (hired person°. She is simply not competent (though friendly) and know nothing about the house and its immediate area. It is frustrating. It is not clear what is the role of owners (can I ask them a question?° and the receptionist (she gave us some information which was simply wrong. She new nothing of what was round the corner! Very stressful. The facilities are not well maintained (eg. a lamp in the swimming pool was not mounted and I was nervous about the safety). The place is next to a very noisy view. The owners (when in contact) are however very nice. The location is also beautiful with a view.
