Golden Tulip Farah Hotel

Typical business hotel close to train station, port and main attractions. Large rooms but air con and outside traffic quite noisy. Water cooker. Toilet working badly. Breakfast and dinner just average. Service okay, prices high.

Arrived for one night stay on tour. The lobby was generally nice, but after entering one of the tiniest elevators I've seen, it went downhill. Not clean, non-smoking room smoky, ventilation very poor, windows filthy. Good breakfast, though!

Was there for work, attending a conference. Pros: a couple of on-site restaurants and food not bad. Decent-ish breakfast. Some traditional Moroccan music played in the lobby. Negatives: room smelt of damp, city noise coming through badly insulated windows - even on 15th floor, towels badly discoloured to a nasty shade of grey, staff quite rude - across the board! Dismissive, abrupt, unfriendly. Wifi was awful - one afternoon there was no signal whatsoever. Try not to use local cash machines, including the one around the corner from the hotel.

Just stayed 1 night but had a bad experience: Only 1 staff at the reception for check in, with a line of 5 clients waiting. They gave us a room in which the window did not close and was damaged. I complaint and I was changed to a new room in the upper and newer floors, but the AC was not working. The hotel staff said that there was no technician until next day. Do not recommend this hotel. Outdated and poor service

High city taxes compared to nearby hotels, 12 dh is the tax but they charge 45 dh. I’m not sure how that’s legal. Pool hours are very limited, open late and close early. Basically the pool is open when businesses are. You can’t swim while your doing your business. It should be open either early to exercise before you start the day or late at night for relaxation and entertainment. It’s a beautiful indoor pool with a bar so why not allow the guests to enjoy this more hours as well as make some extra money at the bar? Staff not friendly or accommodating, wanted a double bed and a non smoking room. After much talk, they finally did it but made sure we knew how inconvenient this was for them. Excuse me, isn’t this part of their job? Nothing to do at the hotel because the pool and weight room close early in the evening and open late in the morning. No shower curtains and open shower so even though the water was warm enough, the air blowing in on you made it cold. They have internet but not strong enough to do anything in the rooms. You can go to the lounge if you really need internet. Ok if you just need a place to sleep. Wouldn’t stay again for that price. I’d expect more for the price. They want to be a high end hotel and pretend to be, but they have a ways to go.
