Great stay at Hotel Sette e Mezzo

Reviewed 3 august, 2021

We stayed for 1 week in this nice hotel. We felt like part of the family. The owner Massimo is very kind and helpful. His father, signor Pietro, is the chef and prepared truly amazing dishes. Their homemade peperoni marmelade is a gem! Breakfast is Italian style: espresso/cappuccino, cornetto (croissant with filling) and additionals like toast, jam/Nutella, yoghurt, juice and fresh fruits. We also had lunch and diners several times in the hotel. The food is excellent, local cuisine. Try their home made liqueur. Very special. The room was very comfortable: clean, spacious, enough space to store cloths and suitcases, a desk to work on and good WIFI. Furthermore a superb view on the valley and mountains. Airconditioning works well (controlled from the reception). Both room and bathroom were cleaned every day and towels are cleaned if they are put on the floor. Excursion tip: Go to (let somebody drop you of at) Santuario Madonna del Soccorso and walk the path down. It takes about 1,5 hour and you will enjoy great views. Use solid shoes and bring some water. Every fourth Sunday of September the faithful gather to take the statue of the Virgin and lead it in procession to the village, to the Mother Church.

Great family hotel.

Reviewed 24 november, 2019

For the first time my brothers and I went to southern Italy. More precisely in Basilicata, where we would visit some cities including that of my great-grandfather, Latronico. On arrival we were very well received by Mr. Maximo and his son, who both took us to know and choose the rooms. The rooms are spacious, clean and with a wonderful view to the valleys and mountains. At night, to our surprise his father, Pietro, a very kind person prepared us a freshly made pizza, preparing the dough on the stone and with a filling of always wanting more. We spent four pleasant days being treated well by the whole family. Last day I was presented by Mr. Pietro with a beautiful cheese. Super recommend it!

Panoramic view - high quality - never felt more at home

One word: AMAZING! We were two friends casually dropping by the hotel during off-season. We speak no italian, but felt like we were taking in by the family running the hotel from the second we entered the door. This is one of those experiences we enjoy: staying in a small (800 pop) local town, eating excellent and genuiune local food, being treated like family. We loved it!!!! Highly recommend for a quite montain hill stay in quality hotel place in extraordinary sorroundings!

Decent hotel in the heart of Pollino National Park

Reviewed 30 june, 2017

This is a well kept hotel in a small, attractive town in the Pollino National Park. They aim to please. Dinner was good, breakfast adequate--a cross between the traditional Italian style minimal and international standard hotels. Please note that air conditioning is central so you have no control over whether it is turned on and what the temperature will be. Wifi is uneven.
