Great family stay
It has a great localization in the center of Castelo de Vide. The staff was very helpful and kind. The room was very clean, confortable and altough the room furniture was old fashioned, the bathroom was very modern. The wifi coverage in the room was poor. The breakfast was decent and also lunch, it didnt have a wider range of choice but i think it has enough for the price. I recommend for a family stay.
Older hotel but excellent value
Large clean rooms with some nice antique furniture. Bathroom was also large with a bathtub, toiletries and hairdryer. Air-condition and restaurant Friendly staff. Basic breakfast (bread, cheese and ham). Nice patio to sit outside. Restaurants within walking distance. You should try the "O Alentejano" If you are looking for a no frills hotel at a good value, you can't go wrong.
good old hotel
We stayed for one night and liked it. The room was big, nice old wooden furniture. Some renovation could be good though. Breakfast is reasonable but not too much choice. Buffet dinner is avalibal for 11 eur.
Excellent value for money
The hotel staff were nice and accommodating. I didn't make any reservation and walked in and asked if I could look at the room. Not much to say about the style and design of the hotel and its room. The room was surprisingly large with all the basic amenities. It has a balcony with a view of the hotel restaurant and some surrounding hill and landscape. There was even a small room for coat and shoes. Breakfast buffet selection was quite small but adequate. Located within the historic center. Excellent value for money.
Adequate for a nights stay
The rooms are clean and nicely sized, however lacking a desk, coffee maker, working hair dryer and decent pillows (ours were lumpy). Our biggest disappointment was the complete lack of coffee until 8:30 when the breakfast room opened. This was not due to the fact they had to brew it, just belligerence in allowing the guests to even help themselves to the automatic coffee maker. Once the breakfast room opened, despite 2 people franticly working to make it ready, they had forgotten to set the tables. Guests had to rummage through the cabinets in search of cutlery and no napkins were to be found. We will return to Castelo da Vide, but plan to stay elsewhere.
