More about the hotel
Great location
Ideal place for exploring the area and relaxing. Situated in lovely gardens with swimming pool, loungers and sun umbrellas. Pool towels are also provided. The staff are very friendly and helpful and give you all the info about the area and recommendations for restaurants. We had a room with patio which was very comfortable but the bathroom was very small. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of special treats and excellent coffee. You couldn't wish for more.
A great place to unwind
I stayed here recently and can't praise the hotel enough. The hotel is small and welcoming, gardens and pool are beautiful and it is the perfect place to hang out for a few days. Bikes are available to rent to visit the nearby beach, the port or a restaurant. Francesca and all of her staff couldn't do enough for you, her hospitality was first class. If you want somewhere to unwind and be looked after this is the place for you.
Beautiful boutique hotel
I stayed at this hotel with 3 girlfriends after a cycling trip in Tuscany. The hotel and gardens are really beautiful and very relaxing. The pool is excellent too. We hung around the pool reading on the sun loungers and dipping into the pool to cool down. We hired bikes at the hotel to go to the beach and restaraunts in the evening. We didn't have a car which is unusual in this place but we were able to get a taxi to bring us to the train station going home. The local beaches are mainly private so you don't just go there and throw down your towel and swim. There are some non private patches to set things down. I'd recommend going to the beach early in the morning before having the wonderful breakfast at the Arli Hotel. There aren't an abundance of restaraunts for evening time but we found one or two adequate ones. We were warned about wild boars roaming the streets after dark, but luckily we never encountered any. All in all we had a really wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff and Francesca couldn't do enough for us. I would highly recommend this place if you were visiting Punta Ala or looking for a Hideaway for a few days while in Italy.
Tired of all the tourists in Florence and Rome?
We have been to Italy before and have been to all of the touristy places. For this vacation, we decided to try to experience a true Italian summertime vacation at the beach. We started off by flying into Florence although it would be just as easy to fly into Rome and then it takes approximately 2 1/2 hours from either airport to arrive at PUnta Ala. This area is frequented by Italians as well as some Germans and Austrians. We ran into only one other American couple during our entire stay. There are many camping areas, summer homes, and lots of Italians who come on the weekend to enjoy the beach. It is a typical beachy town, with activity early in the morning, lots of activity on the beach during the day, very quiet afternoon when it is hot, and then comes back to life in the evening. The beach is typical Italian in that there are rental chairs set in perfect formation, like soldiers, along the small beach. A typical rental for the day of two chairs, and an umbrella, runs about €35 per couple. Each of the beach clubs has restaurants and cabins to change. During the day, there’s really not much else to do. We languished by the pool. The staff at the hotel was extremely accommodating. We had brought some of our own wine from Tuscany, but they were more than willing to provide us with cheese and Cold cut trays in the afternoon to go with our wine. There is a very nice pool, but it is not heated, which is not important given that it is extremely hot. As pale faced Americans, we like to be by the pool but enjoy having an umbrella. There were no umbrellas right by the pool just over the outside patio where you eat breakfast. Francesca and her staff moved the breakfast tables so we could still be by the pool but have some shade. I am hopeful that with time, she will get some umbrellas for the pool. She stated we were the first people to ever make this request. There is a walking/running path that parallels the beach that is a lot of fun to do but it should be done early in the day. The staff at the hotel serves a wonderful breakfast, continental, with pastries, breads, cheeses, and different bake options. Gluten-free is available. The coffee is delicious. You are entitled to one hot beverage for each breakfast, but the additional beverages are very inexpensive at two euros per cup of cappuccino. Also, we had afternoon snacks for four afternoons and the total was €72, and that also included one bottle of wine!!The prices were very reasonable at the hotel. The rooms are spotlessly clean. The beds entice you to a great night’s sleep. There is ample storage. There is enough space to put your luggage above the closet. The bathrooms are well lit. My one small criticism would be that there was no make up mirror, however, Francesca brought in a mirror at my request and was sweet and gracious. They were also more than willing to make restaurant suggestions. My reviews of these restaurants are available elsewhere also on trip advisor. They also provide very nice toiletries as well as toothbrushes, razors, etc. if you forget anything. The hotel is not right on the beach, but is about a five minute walk. There is ample parking. There is someone on duty all the time to answer questions or concerns. They even packed us a breakfast in the morning that we left, at 6 AM. This is a place to come to if you want to relax and as Francesca put it, “detoxify from your children.” We love our kids, but it was great to have five days just to ourselves. You will never find a better, more accommodating, and truly Italian experience with an amazing staff, than at the Arli Hotel. Ps. We stayed in room 318, which had a very nice large patio. The room was larger than all the others. If you can afford it, recommend this room. It is also on the second level so no one is walking on your head.
Very relaxing high quality hotel
We stayed at Arli for 6 nights. The plan was for a relaxing time after a tour of the sites of Tuscany. Our room was Moonlight on the first floor. It was stunning - clean, modern and with ample storage space. But the best feature of the room was the large private terrace that it had with bistro furniture and Sun beds. We soon got into a routine of tripping out in the morning then coming back for a chill on our terrace before moving to the pool area for a swim, cocktails (with the best nibbles ever) and more chill. Breakfast is included which has everything you would want. A small downside is the limitation on wifi. We had 10hours for 6 days. Although when the 10hours ran out it does not take a genius to work out how to get another 10hours. The issue is constantly logging off and on. Within walking distance are a few great restaurants. We mostly used these and we had some great meals. Most restaurants are located in Punta Ala however which is circa 30min walk away along a rough path. Unfortunately walking back after dark is a problem as wild boar come out and the path probably should not be used. Driving into Punta Ala or using the hotel bicycles are better options. All in all the Arli is a perfect hotel for those wanting to relax and unwind in very high quality accommodation. Thank you Francesca for making our stay special
