This place is wicked, innt?!?
Staying here for a few months totally free of charge innit! Food is free, room is free, everything is not paid for by me! Best place I have ever stayed. Some dodgy guy called Nigel came knocking at my door though, which stopped me watching Lorraine. That was rude, man!
Parking hell
I have been fighting a parking charge notice since December and they are charging me £100 as they say I didn’t enter my registration into there system when I KNOW I did. We attend private swimming lessons for my daughter, I know and understand the full rules of parking as I looked into before deciding to join. I can’t risk getting £100 fines each week on top of swimming lessons costs we are looking to leave, this really upsets me as my daughter is really settled in her lessons and doesn’t like change. The hotel and gym say it’s nothing to do with them and left me to appeal. Very disappointed
Don't even consider this place Parking is a con!
It was our second visit to this hotel since it has changed from Hilton to Britannia, and all I can say is that I would never ever go back again, not even if they paid me! We stayed both times on a Groupon voucher deal. First time, everyting went smoothly. Second time we have been fined £200 for onsite car parking, even though our car registration was entered into the console on reception, which meant the car parking fee should have been waived, like it was on our first visit. Contacted reception to query and explained the situation, girl I spoke to not interested. Nothing to do with hotel as monitored by a third party Smart Parking. Tough! Terrible customer service, terrible attitude by staff. This USED to be a good hotel, now they no longer care about the customer who pays their WAGES! Take my advise and stay well away.
Good value until you get a £200 fine for parking when the hotel told you it was included in your rate!
We have stayed here 3 times, the first when it was a Hilton. The restaurant food, although seemingly basic was very good and the service better than when it was a Hilton. The second time it was Britannia and we had parking included in our room rate and entered our registration number as requested. No problems. Last time we stayed, the receptionist said she'd enter it for us and lo and behold we have just received a series of parking fines for parking there. We rang the hotel and they washed their hands of it saying it was nothing to do with them!!!! By the way, the parking company said they were working on the hotel's behalf. We are now being charged £200 for parking for 1 night. Although what is curious is that we left the hotel to pick up relatives to bring them back for dinner. We then took them home again. We then came back to spend the night and leave the next day. The fines are for the first 2 journeys bit there is no parking notice for returning a third time and parking overnight. This is making what should have been an inexpensive night too London hotel prices not a crumbling Britannia hotel price (yes, it is deteriorating). What really hacks me off is the total washing of hands of it by the hotel. We can't present the voucher as proof of our stay as the hotel took it. They just repeated it's nothing to do with them. Well, if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have been parking in their car park in the first place! DO NOT RISK STAYING THERE I never will again, not any other Britannia Hotel (and I have stayed at a few others before) They say that you get what you pay for and don't expect anything other than the faded grandeur you get. SO the food at the Bromsgrove is a pleasant surprise. But it is NOT worth between £200 and £300 for 1 night, especially when the £200 wasn't agreed but stuck on afterwards.
