Padgett Place Deluxe Suites by APEXOTEL
Reviewed 8 february, 2020
Please only book the suites and apartments run by APEXOTEL, an international hospitality company. Their rooms at Padgett Place are tastefully decorated, fully furnished and fully packed with luxury amenities, like Nespresso machine and capsules, game console, books, board games, high-quality linens and towels, etc. APEXOTEL staff are also very helpful and give excellent guest services, available 24 hours a day to help you. They also accept credit card payments, it was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this place
Not as advertised

Let me start off by saying the accommodations were nice and that will be probably the only nice thing I say about this place. BUYERS BEWARE this is not a hotel it is an Air B&B. We land in Cebu and arrive at what we thought was a hotel style business as advertised on Expedia. I will get to Expedia later and how they played a part in this terrible ordeal. When we arrived our place to stay was not ready so we waited in the lobby for an hour. Which was ridiculous because we arrived an hour after check in time and the accommodations should have been ready. The staff wants us to pay the deposit and other fees upon check in. No problem except they will not take a credit card and will only take the payment in cash. Wake up Cebu this is 2020 and most travelers do not carry cash more that what it takes to pay for a taxi. So we work out an agreement to hit the ATM and they load us up in a taxi and take us clear across town to a different area for the actual place we would be staying. This will be the last time we saw anyone from the establishment until we checked out. Now back to Expedia and their roll in this fiasco. When we booked the place online via Expedia the place was advertised as a hotel with a decent price that would accommodate our adult daughter (adults are always viewed different and hotels will have different policies because of more than two adults in the room even when they are your children) our other daughter and my wife and I. So we booked. What Expedia does not inform you until you get the receipt in your email is the extra $110 USD that the Padgett Place charges for cleaning fee and electricity. That’s right remember it’s not a hotel as Expedia advertised it is actually an Air B&B. By the way, once you pay via Expedia there is no refund. Which brings the room to $125 a night USD. Still not a bad price but would be nice to know the full price up front before booking. Back to the establishment: not only would they not take the deposit via card they will not take the $110 for electricity and cleaning fee via card either. All that has to be paid in cash when you arrive which is not in the email they send you. The prices are spelled out but the fact you have to pay in cash is not. When we arrived in the room there was not enough towels for us so back down to the front desk and find out that the building we are in and the front desk staff is not affiliated with Padgett Place. The desk staff there was very nice and helped us out a lot though even though Padgett Place would not even bother. Here is a quote from their email they sent us though. “ There is an intercom near the kitchen, which connects to the lobby, which is open 24 hours if you need taxi, assistance or information. Our receptionists are willing to assist you anytime.” There was no intercom because we were moved to a different property and when I texted Padgett Place and asked how I can contact their staff this is the response I received. “Hello, you are staying at a Serviced Suite. Our staff are on call and are only available at scheduled times. Our staff is on sick leave. If you have concerns we can call you through the building lobby reception number. Thanks!” Except the very friendly staff at the building lobby had no clue how to contact Padgett Place staff. All of this compounded with a rude staff just made the whole experience terrible. Like I said in the beginning of my review the actual apartment we stayed in was wonderful for an Air B&B. Nice room, hot showers (which is uncommon in the Philippines) WIFI was fast, bed was comfy, and had the basic utensils needed to enjoy the stay. The location of our building was in IT Park only a block away from Ayala Mall IT Park which is brand new. There was plenty of restaurants and cafes right next door and everything so close you didn’t need a taxi until you get ready to head back to the airport. I suggest taking the short one block walk to the Waterfront Casino and Hotel and enjoy dinner at one of their many establishments. I will review the place we we had dinner at in another review. There is also a great place to get a massage and relax near the apartment. Wife and I had a couples massage for only 800 pesos. All in all the apartment was good. If Padgett Place would improve their staff and actually advertise as an Air B&B and not a hotel I am sure the expectations and experience would be better. But if you plan on staying here bring at least 12000 pesos and a couple of towels and your own TP because you will not get any assistance from the staff.
We hate the their

Padgett place is sucks! I won’t recommend this to anyone! They have surprising price. We paid 89$ and when we got there they want us to pay 5k for deposit, 4k for cleaning and 300 for cleaning. Really ? You might just live your own room if you want. The hotel with free breakfast and much nicer is cheapest than this place .
Good location downtown, rough around the edges

Close to Ayala Center the largest mall in Cebu. Rooms are big, ours had two bedrooms, a kitchen, and three bathrooms. But AC could barely keep it cool, one toilet didn't work and it did not have daily maid service. The caretaker lost the post-it with the WiFi password, forcing me to decipher the manufacturer sticker on the bottom and use trial and error to get online. (Get a local sim card at the airport--we worth it.) Also no sound deadening, from the 25th floor we heard crying roosters and noisy construction work next door.
