Wouldn’t stay again

When we pulled up, I thought the hotel was closed. It was in such a state of disarray. We needed somewhere cheap to stay so this fit the bill. Came to town again and this last time stayed at Mainstays. Was so much better. Didn’t see any roaches, so that was a plus. Would not recommend.
A Complete Dump-Horrible Stay

I booked this online through a third party site. We arrived at 11:30pm. The outside of the hotel is in need of repair. Some renovation was going on. Check in was non descript and average. The elevator was filthy. The hallways were filthy with ripped and dirty carpets. A bad smell was present in the hallway and the room. A pubic hair was on the toilet seat upon our arrival. One set of bathroom towels for two guests. A sticky visible substance was on bathroom floor. The bedspread had horrible stains on it. At 730am workers started throwing furniture out the windows of adjoining rooms. They made lots of noise. At check out nobody asked how our stay was or said thank you. We did not feel safe here. Take our advice and if you have a reservation here please cancel it and go someplace else. I am sure a homeless shelter would be cleaner.
Horrible room, nasty owner

DON’T STAY HERE! Disgusting room, A/C smelled like someone died inside it. Towels, shower very gross. Trying to leave in morning, minivan idling in middle of parking right behind my car - tons of open parking spots around the lot. Asked clerk to move, said we were in hurry, desk clerk couldn’t even figure out how to put in gear. Rudest man ever (owner of property) moved like molasses and was VERY discourteous when he finally came out to move. Kept us blocked in for at least 15 minutes. Construction everywhere. Can’t believe this place has 3.5 stars. I’d have given zero if it that was an option.
Decent room, noisy outside.

Check in was smooth. Room was at the back of the building, with people smoking and talking outside the door. The room itself was fine. The bed was comfortable and the wifi acceptable. TV channel selection was average. Maid knocked on my door at 8 am even though I was checking out that day.
Old and Needs Renovations

The Red Roof in Cedar Rapids is an older motel. The lobby was old and the hallway rugs were old, warn and torn with a strange ordor. The rooms had been restored but the beds were lumpy but clean. The bathroom needed repairs and updating. THe breakfast was very limited to just pancakes, toast and bagles.
