Rooms Are Set Up Strangley
Seems to be a hotel under renovation. Our bathroom was half tiled. Toilet was the basin that does not have a tank and requires good water pressure; however water pressure was very low. Had to hold flush handle 3 or 4 minutes to get the feces to go down.Shower and toilet are located close together without curtain. Toilet is drenching wet after a shower. Elevator is the open window type, fun to ride. However; it only went on three floors. The Hotel has 4 floors with a basement for parking. Have to use steps to get to Garage or Fourth Floor where they have their large activity room. We were there for two days for a conference. The swimming pool looked nice but had a large sign that said, "Closed for Bleaching" both days. Beds were comfortable and rooms were quiet at night. Cleaning is badly needed everywhere. Only one unused electrical outlet in room. None in bathroom.
2019 visit, Dreadful, Worse than 2018, etc. Enter at your peril to be greeted by rude staff, if any are available.
Dreadful, dirty, dilapidated, rude staff in 2019. Avoid at all costs or regret you entered here. See my reviews above, and below. I have stayed here most years since 2006. My family lives close by. In 2006 I was impressed by the ambience, staff and antiques collected in the hotel, then named "Metropolis" after the film. Then, I loved it. Each room was themed after "Metropolis" and the hotel showed a magnificent collection of antique Philippine and Malaysian art works. I think Metropolis had new owners and named Crown Regency Residencies around 2008. Sine 2008 it has deteriorated. No restoration, same menu as 2006. Good staff have quit. Bed sheets torn, flooring decaying, old air conditioners decaying. Bathrooms filthy,
Needs Renovation
My sister together with her family had their vacation here in Philippines and booked this hotel. The room is big which good for family and ambiance is cozy however there are some issues during our stay like the tv is outdated (not flatscreen tv), the tub is not working, there's only two outlet for charging your phone or other stuff, the shower is not strategically placed so every time you use it, the whole bathroom floor goes wet and the shower curtain is not that big to cover the shower area and toilet bowl. But the staff was great and accommodating. So all in all i'll give it average.
Awful
On arrival, there was a problem with the electricity and shower in our room. When we used the shower, all electricity in the room would trip so no lights, TV, plug sockets, shower heater would work. The janitor was called to fix this problem three times but he was unable to do so. This meant we had to have cold showers in the dark. We had to use the torches on our phone so we could see to shower as they were full and couldn’t change our room. There was no apology for this. On the second day, the same problem happened. We called reception so that the janitors would come. We waited over one hour with no body coming to the room, we called again and they finally came but were still unable to fix the problem. They said the only way to fix it was to replace the shower which could not be done until the next day. The janitors left our bathroom very dirty with lots of mud from their shoes. We had to clean the bathroom ourself before we could use it! We then had to have ANOTHER cold shower. On our third day, we waited all day for the janitors to come and replace the shower. As we could not wait any longer because we leave, we had no choice but to have another cold shower. The janitors came to replace the shower after this at around 4pm. After speaking to reception before leaving, they did not offer us any compensation or complimentary stay elsewhere, just a ‘sorry it won’t happen again’. After asking for the managers email address, I still have not received a reply one week later. Absolutely disgusting.
Not Worthy to Stay...Avoid if can !!
we stayed a few days ago and we booked a deluxe room from booking.com. First of all we payed all on website... When we got to the hotel we were given a form that told us we have to pay more from their own charges, which was a shock to us as we were told prices was included. the hotel staff in the desk were not too polite and not welcoming.. they didn't give us the hotel key for our room for a day and a half of our stay as their alibi is their computer is broken as that moment and we keep on asking them to open door for us if we going to places when we need to go to the room(this made the staff pull a face when ask for room key ).. it is disappointing and inconvenient! the rooms are very old and outdated.. we payed extra for deluxe room and so many things were broken and damaged... the walls had chips and holes in the plaster, no hot waters in the shower, the button is broken in the shower.. the light switch in the bathroom was broken and dangerous.. the tv is old and did not work we had to keep in asking the staff to come and fix it,the fridge was old and leaking and smelly we had inform them of it but nothings happen.. it is very different from the advertisement on the website.. false advertising!! You don't feel welcome with the staff in the reception desk who keep on chatting with each other about their own business and gossips.. the only good thing was the lady in the dining room she was friendly and attentive and very good...really they should offer us a refund for our wasted money!!
